Hi guys After a long drove today I parked up and noticed a pool of coolant, now I know that these things are meant to be pressurised but even after being parked up for 15 mins it was still overflowing quite a lot from the reservoir. Any thoughts?? EDIT:it was just air in the system because it hadn't been run up in a while
Thanks

Bentley Turbo R?
They are known to do HG every 60k but don't go straight to that conclusion. Ensure there is flow, both that there are no blockages and that the waterpump is working

Ensure there is flow, both that there are no blockages and that the waterpump is working So I drove the car a further 150 miles and had no issues with leaking at all and temps have remained fine. Perhaps it was an air lock in the system causing additional pressure. The car hasn’t been used in quite a while. Will take a look tomorrow! Thanks

Check the pressure cap is holding pressure properly. We had a Mk2 golf years ago, the O ring got snagged in the pressure cap one time. When running it was fine, but a few minutes after the engine was turned off, it would spew its coolant everywhere

Given how much spares are on Bentleys and how they are over-engineered, it wouldn't be surprising if it has the wrong cap fitted.
As an example, the thermostat for them costs the following: -Bentley/Rolls Royce - £140 -Pattern Chinese made item via the specialists : £74.
So the wrong cap being fitted so as to save a few quid is possible.

Hi guys, the cap looks fairly new so it may not have been fitted properly, since I refitted it we’ve had no issues 300 miles later.
Thanks for the help!

Hi guys, the cap looks fairly new so it may not have been fitted properly, since I refitted it we’ve had no issues 300 miles later. Thanks for the help! That doesn't mean alot. I can buy a £5 thermostat I can put into a Bentley but: -With it being a certain brand with a jiggle pin (not possible at £5) -Drill a hole into it to act as a jiggle pin (which then brings potentially a problem of overcooling about) I can assure you they can become a pig to bleed . Some caps have seals in different areas and others work by allowing water to come back into the expansion tank. I can put a cap onto a Stag that fits but I can assure that one off a Mini would result in a big bill quite quickly on one due to pressure rating difference. The problem would only become apparent if the car hit traffic and the temp went higher. A mate's Scooby converted Splitty had exactly this issue (1.0 Bar cap and header tank fitted vs. a 1.5 off the Scooby; he had to bleed it every journey due to an airlock occuring.

Understood, thanks Chas, I’m taking it into the shop tomorrow to sort the blowing exhaust so I’ll have the guys take a look at this too.
