On the odd occassion a car comes up on marketplace that you just have to buy, even if it means not viewing it before hand. But can you go wrong with a Gen 3 Civic at a bargain price?
Tin Top Only 35000miles! Mk1 Teg Engine on Twin Carbs 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifold Lowering Springs MG Rear Shocks and Hubs Bigger Brakes
The question is do we put it back on the road or build it as a track car?

So we collected this little gem from down south yesterday. It needs a good tidy up and putting back on the road but its a pretty solid car. Its not had an MOT since 2014 and it was sat on this lads drive for the past 3 years. Just one major bit of rust to sort out on the drivers rear sill, nice and easy. The interior is pretty tidy with original radio, not event a tape player, and a nice Acura Integra steering wheel. The engine bay is pretty clean and its a nice surprices to see an Integra D16 twin Cam, twin carb lump in the bay. 130BHP out the box should be plenty for a car that only weigh 765KG. Small to do list to get it back on the road: - 4 New tyres - Pancake filter for carbs - Welding on Sill - Front drivers Wheel Bearing - Change all fluids - New Brakes - MOT Think tahts about it

Hope the adapted or lowly JDM spec. D16 twin carbs(?) are nice enough compared to the more common fuel injected versions, but certainly easier when upgrading most Civic. Engine loves to rev regardless of fairly long stroke & wasn't outdone by the cheaper sohc vtec D16 that replaced it, even if it was eclipsed by the heavier, even revvier B16. Surprised to see an American Acura (rather than Honda Integra) steering wheel over there, indicating the extra effort expended.. though hope the shift knob gets binned If you find you need engine mount I found some Integra differed from the US spec. versions that can make sourcing/identifying them more difficult to find, I think it was the left (of car) one.

Starting to sort out all the little jobs on 3G with Terry now. Crack welded up on the exhaust, just need a gasket now. Removed all the wheels it came with to paint them and fit new tyres, just going for Rainsports as they are a good all-rounder but we are going from a 185 to 195 to fill the arches a bit more. New passenger side wheel bearing fitted and we have 262 MGZR discs and pads to replace the knackered old items. Probably bleed it through with Castrol SRF. Clean the interior up, paint the roof, chuck a cambelt on for good measure, then a few other jobs and we should be good for MOT and ready to put her up for sale.

The wheels from our little fast road Civic 3G project have seen a fresh layer of paint after having some Uniroyal rainsport 5's supplied and fitted by Tech and tyres. We opted for some slightly wider 195/50's compared to the 185's previously fitted just for a bit of extra grip. As the car is being sold as a fast road setup rather than track focused we felt the Rainsports were a great all rounder compared with a set of semi slicks.
