Ok chaps, i've just had my project shell painted and i want to put a very lightweight fabric dust cover on it to protect while i'm working around it, not looking to spend big bucks, the only one i've found so far is Metex, but they don't state the material and reviews are a bit hit and miss. Has anyone got any recommendations please?

They do some blAnket type dust sheets in homebargains. They look like a grey recycled type. I have some on my Morris minor .

Probably the best thing for you is poly mask - its used throughout the trade for masking & protection - comes on a roll - different widths - 4 metres wide will suit most cars but you can get 5 & 6 metre wide - dependant upon width it comes in 100 - 150m in length and is statically charged so it sticks to the car - you just cut the length off the roll that you need - unlike dust covers manufactured from material fibres it does not harbour dust or debris - you just dispose of it when you are done with - has many uses in the workshop - available on E Bay / Amazon or at your local automotive paint factors - expect to pay between £15 - £25 - and here is a pic of it in use

I think the blanket type sheets sound a bit too heavy duty for my requirement but cheers.
I had thought of using the polly sheet but i don't think it will offer any protection against contact with the shell as i'm working in a single garage. Incidentally years ago i used a polly sheet over one of my cars, and it resulted in an area of the roof suffering from a light patch, not sure how it happened as there was no damp under the sheet, it was a red car in 2k, thanks for the info though.
