Picked up this last weekend, low balled, assumed I'd been dismissed, but then ended up collecting!  I built the Pageant Blue Allegro 1500 super Sprint car a few years ago (That Ed now owns and has spent far too much money and time on!  ), and in the meantime have concentrated on racing motorbikes, and messing around with Skodas and 1.8 K series powered mini clubmans. Wanting a more family friendly classic to pootle around in, the Aggro seemed perfect. The family can fit in with comfort, 1500 OHC motor, 5 speed box for leisurely cruising and the dog can go in the back. Win Win Win! As picked up, the suspension was on it bump stops on the drivers side, I diagnosed it as a leaking Hydragas pipe. I made a new piece up out of 10mm hydraulic tubing and joined it together with 10L hydraulic fittings. The later twin light front end has had the blown sealed beam lights swapped for Halogen units The indicators were brought back to life with a mix of rewiring and the correct flasher units reinstating A new 70amp Xr2 alternator and 063 battery brings us up to date. A bit of welding to do on the scuttle and near side rear sill, brake hoses and droop straps to replace and then maybe a blow over in spring. I loves it! |

Nice ! Vinyl roof really suits it in that bright yellow.
Remember them from my youth as comfortable spacious and easy to fix.

dolly sprint wheels? looks like a fun ride. Stag wheels. I like allegros, but I never wanted one. Allegro estates on the other hand, I want very much. This is very cool, and I assume its Inca yellow? Interested to see what happens to it. |

Yep Stag wheels and Inca Yellow.
It’s the stock 1500 at the minute, but the long term plan is to drop a 1750 in with twin carbs.
Not an exciting swap but I want to keep it insurance and family friendly!

 Interior shot as requested. Somebody has spent some time on this at some point, but judging by the amount of extra wires, relays and boxes stuck under the dash, they were unable to drive past an Halfords back in the day without buying something.... |

Good run out yesterday, did about 80 miles with the family from the excellent Retro Roadhouse near Horbury, to Squires café bar near Sherburn in Elemet. Enjoying the OHC power and 5 speed gearbox!   |

Though the car is 40+ 'MOT Exempt' it is a bit disconcerting to be confronted with the "Wrist Bracelets WARNING" red box when you run the plate... lol You will be ok with changing engine size for MOT rules  OVIMOR |

Although, I prefer the stock dashboard, this is definitely one of the better executed "home made" dashboards out there and can easily be lived with.
A stylish family car mate.
