And I certainly have collected, and shared out some free stuff.

Perfectly timed by mate Scott jabbo was an offer of a used (not a SnapOn) wheeled toolbox for my garage.

I have a SnapOn item that came here for £75.00 a year or two ago from a mate.

But this will be great for the extra stuff laying about, especially with the current carport build.




Including 30 mile delivery, it has the feel of a bargain.

Life continues to be good.

Being up at stupid-0-clock, meant I got to talk to Dennis on Messenger video for about 45 minutes from 5.15 as he had got home late, and saw me online.

He was saying there is a lot of work left, getting doors, fenders etc all lined up before final paint and then final assembly.

He is impatient too.


Two weeks of spending less than £5.00 equates to not a good Bootfair.

Home by 8.00am

One for Craig, likes his VW stuff.



And for the new carport and compressor room, a double plug for £1.00

And a book for the toilet, 50p



Mostly pink stuff and rusted tools and dirty kitchenware.

But we keep hoping.

That’s a decent result on the garden tools. Looks like a big leaf vacuum? Always fancied one of those. Oh, and the house painting is coming along; that’s got to be painful, painting that much rough rendering. Mine’s smooth and there’s not much of it, but I still don’t like it.

Both the green tools are headed onto FB marketplace.

I actually lost my painting mojo during the very high,temperature days, and need to get back onto it.

And yes, it’s a killer, painting that.

Well at lest it didn't fly up and smash the rear screen.

Am I the on;y one who has three or four future cars/projects spinning around in my head, while having one to still complete?

Part of my future planning or dreaming is something like these Owner type, or Tamiya style cars mostly seen in the Philippines.

Rust. Absolute killer on them. I used to have mates who competed with the earlier SJ models right through to the more modern ones. Although I haven't seen them since the very new one came out. The current new ones are a little rare as Suzuki GB didn't bring that many into the country.

However, if rust is an issue, the construction is quite simple and my mates never had any issues welding bits up as and when required. In competitions they found the lack of weight to be an advantage and in general running around the smaller engines were better on fuel, when compared with my thirsty landrover.

I've just had a poke about on another 4x4 forum specially for Jimny's and it seems that the factory underseal is not all that great as the rust creeps along behind it, which is rather worrying... Also a slight tip if you're making an offroad toy, is to give it a 1" body lift, as that way the body mounts onto the chassis will have a little space to make them dry out and you're less likely to get the dreaded rot setting in.

Hopefully you can do more input and a bit more on chassis rot or not.


I am thinking (part of future planning) of rebodying a Vitara or something with a chassis.


Rather than use an old home built kit car frame, use something that has most of the bits in the right place.


Never done it before but think it is within my abilities.


AND I WANT TO LOWER IT QUITE A BIT

I think a rebody will be doable in the current IVA and various test criteria.


Of course, all of this could just be a dream and foolish, hopefully those who really know their stuff will input with encouragement or warnings.
