I used a company call proovia to collect a dismantled metal motorbike shed from Hampshire and deliver it to me in the north-west. That cost 200 and they did a good job.

My guess is that with the amount of work couriers and delivery people have at the minute they aren’t that bothered. But rather than saying that, they kited the price instead

Always amazes me that people take a chance on supporting raised vehicles. Cars I have had with a suicide jack i put one of my fold down axle stands in, so even when changing a wheel, remember when you could do that on cars, I put the axle stand underneath.

I just sold my Honda CBR600, although 2003 it was a very clean bike low mileage bike. The Guy who bought it asked me to take some pictures as AnyVan loaded it into their Luton van. T the time I voiced my concern at their methods for securing the bike and was politely told not to worry, or words to that effect. The bike travelled some 75 miles and arrived with one front indicator ripped out of the fairing and one at the rear at 45 degrees. When the purchaser queried the damage the AnyVan representative said that's how it was was collected from the seller, fortunately I'd forwarded the photographs when the courier was leaving. Apparently the two Guys went very quiet when shown the photographs, this is now subject to an ongoing claim. In my experience the industry standard for your sort of journey tends to be around the £160 mark, unless the location is off the beaten track of course. I am not impressed with their obvious subliminal rejection of my business, just means I would neither use, nor promote them now or in future. Truck makes me look out every day, many times and just grin. Always amazes me that people take a chance on supporting raised vehicles. Cars I have had with a suicide jack i put one of my fold down axle stands in, so even when changing a wheel, remember when you could do that on cars, I put the axle stand underneath. Absolutely. I see mate Dennis still has a spare wheel under the truck, despite axle stands after all these years

I received a load of GMC Sonoma spares from Steve who sold me the alloy wheels after Craig collected them for me. Started to unpack them. Some will fit my truck, but some are specific to the GMC and will go to worthy GMC owners when genuinely needed to repair other trucks. Firstly a bunch of plastics, dash bezel surround, radiator cowl plastics. Packed away Two sets of GMC headlights. Half a box to unpack still, another days job. Found a treasure in the box. Not sure how complete t is, and wha else it needs, but perfect for the truck if I can make it work. Parrot mobile phone box. Job for another day.

Parrot looks like an early MKi9200, a very good system for its day incorporating Bluetooth audio streaming, usb and line in, but it would probably be more cost effective to buy a complete used unit than try to complete what you have as there are quite a few parts to them. I think I have a basic model stashed in the garage if you want to fit hands free without too many bells and whistles

Looks indeed like a Parrot MKi9200 base unit bar wiring harness, user interface, display and mike. So only good for eventual repairs. I use such a system and via Bluetooth it works very well. Thom

I always out a wheel under the car when I've jacked it up, if nothing else stops me tripping over the removed wheel and injuring myself that way!

Not sure what I would be looking for, and to be honest, I suspect the guy who stripped the truck, wold not have cared about it. I do not have any handsfree kit in the truck for my iphone but it would be another one of those nice to haves. It is not a big thing, but I guess its a potentially good thing. Thats really all I can say.

Thom Simple is fine to me, as long as I do ot have police or jobsworth problems. I always out a wheel under the car when I've jacked it up, if nothing else stops me tripping over the removed wheel and injuring myself that way! I agree with “that bloody wheel” And it adds another aspect of safety.

That Parrot should include a display module and a microphone and a couple of looms. You will need the specific harness to connect it to your trucks stereo.
To be frank, they were pretty rubbish and not very reliable (I've had three in different cars and all have failed). It's not really worth the effort of fitting it and the cost of the loom for your stereo.

So yesterday was a significantly irritating and stressful day at work, and I actually spent most of the day on the desk, so walked away a few times. Cutting some wood and creating a 120mm step and a name tag for Harry. Also added some colour to the sandbox top, by accident. Today was take 2 or a groundhog day. Thankfully the Hermes courier broke the monotony of the desk bound stress, listening to, shall I say b0llox on Teams. And my new, American style, pressed steel plates arrived from Europl8 on Facebook. He also sent a couple of car, air fresheners and a couple of options to complete the look. The truck was built and sold in Missouri in 2001, so I could add the names or leave it plain. I also had the digits offset a bit to the right, in order to be able to add a pair of Stars n Stripes stickers or enamel badges to them. Really pleased. And of course, just a quick measure up. Now just to wait for the DVLA to switch the plates about. .

I would only bother with it if I had everything it needed and didn't need to spend a penny on it. It's old complicated tech and there are cheaper easier solutions that give you more. For example, last year I got a couple of NextBase DAB350BT bluetooth DAB radios for £25 each from Amazon. They can connect to your existing stereo via FM and work really well. I've got one in my CLK and the other in my Voyager.

So it would need to be compatible Looking out for car shows down this way, South, and in Kent. Time to eat sandwiches in a field with strangers.

As some of you know, I collect and trade license plates. Some of your plates are on display or awaiting mounting. Every now and then though an offer to trade some of my more valued (even gifted of collected from your scrap pile) plates. This week these were offfered for a slightly tougher trade. I certainly wanted Michigan plates. And I wanted specialist plates. So I needed to rummage through my collection of motorbike plates. To find some old and new. From the UK and South Africa. I really wish I had a modern UK plate as well for the collector, Mr Pink. His offer. I kinda put these together knowing they came from friends and scavenging but I would say its a very fair and balanced trade. In the mean time. These guys await collection. Soon.
