1. Waterproof 2. Oil / petrol / brake fluid resistant 3. Marks you out as a 'hands on' type of person. Or traveller. Generally someone not to be messed with. A useful bit of kit for cold / grubby environments any which way. Waterproof? and somebody else said warm? You get issued with better stuff than I ever have then ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I did say I could understand drivers/crew/helpers wearing them. (and I would love a hiab too ;D ). And I certainly wasn't calling anybody anything, including traveller - I own a fair range of Highway and Railway hi-viz and weigh in my own scrap cars etc Thinking about I was wearing some (very comfy but sturdy) safety boots myself ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) Never could get on with riggers. Just wondered why some of the people who seemed to purely spectators were wearing some very shiney looking hi-viz ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

wow, it appears i have a full on banger racing costume in the boot of my car. high vis jackets are grade A horrible, noisy, sweaty, get in the way.
i always wear a flat cap, sweed jacket and smoke a pipe.... i don't see what the big thing is all about. (when at goodwood revival)

I got ayellow jacket and some scrap does this make me a pikie scrap dealer Yes. ;D Thanks for the link Lankytim. There can't be many more A60s left to banger, surely. It always amazes me that people still keep finding Mk10 Jags, etc. to race - or have the banger boys been stockpiling them for years?

I think many barn finds and house clearance garage relics find their way onto the track. Some mildly trashed cars are repaired after last years event too!

I have a high vis jacket, have some "rolling scrap" in the garage and am half Irish by blood...... "Ya like dags?" ;D ![](http://ffmedia.ign.com/reviews/multimedia/snatch-pitt-flemyng.jpg) And I wholeheartedly support the pipe. I've always wanted to look more sophisticated and penny farthings are awfully expensive. Can we add monocles into the dress code?
