	So i aquired an old 12v voltage regulator for a generator which I plan on installing in my ford G73a. I took it out from a 1970 bettle . under the regulator is a broken element, does anyone know what that element is so I can replace it? the picture of the regulator :

	Everything in there looks like it's in a rather sorry state. The thing with the broken leg looks like a diode but you would need to be able to read some nrs of the casing to find a suitable replacement.
