So.... when I passed my test 20 years ago my first car was an F reg Vauxhall Nova SR, well technically a B reg but it was wrotten and scrapped within a few months, so all the memories were made in the F reg.
I’ve been out of the car game/scene for about 10 years, most of my good friends are people I met through the car scene and I realised my kids would never really know that side of my life, so After watching an episode of of overhaulin where chip explained his dad got him into cars and talking about the f100 they worked on etc I decided I’d keep an eye out for a cheap project I could do some bits too and take to car shows with the family, days out like bromley pageant, oh so retro etc.
A few days later I found this sat on a drive when I took a diversion to avoid traffic.... flat tyre, faded paint but looked solid.
Inside was mint
End of the week it was still there so I stopped and knocked.
The guy said it was his late aunts and he would happily sell it, the day id first seen it, it had only been moved there a few days.
Old lady owner, 41k from new...paid £400
Plan was originally to tidy it up, give it a detail, lower it and some alloys....
This was the outcome.... until the clutch went just before ohsoretro 2017....
And I found this mega rotten, roof rails cut off/badly smoothed, but had a good heart.....and agreed £700.... only wanted engine, box, conversion parts and the NOS set up, sold the shell and rest of it for £1100, still got some stuff to shift too.
Lots of pics inbetween, stitch welding, painting, lots of stuff blasted and powder coated etc to end up with this
And looks like this now
