I use Collinite 476 Wax in the Summer & wiped over with Duck Oil (like WD40 but evaporates less) in the Winter. Generally I try to avoid the salt & whilst it's certainly not a daily driver but I do try & use it all year round, below last Winter:- It looks as straight as a die with good panel gaps and isn’t fake. It’s a winner in my book. My car, although bodily restores, is used in the same way as yours, what’s the point of having them if not to use them. I also like the fact it winds up the purists. I went to a Stag meet at Donnington park one year, one of the guys told me I should be flogged because my rear Stag badges were on backwards. He told me they must face the direction of travel, I replied they do when I’m reversing! He walked away muttering.

Its this sort of attitude which stopped me from being a member of several owners clubs, and the only forum i’m on is this one. I knew of a guy with a moggy traveller a few years ago, blew the a series lump and because he also had a mot fail peugeot diesel, fitted the engine into said moggy. Several know-it-all ‘enthusiasts’ told him he’d ruined it His response was ‘ i didnt build it for you.’

I think the E-Type is fantastic. It awesome in every way and as I am sure you already do... Please disregard any distasteful comments. The fact the car is being used and enjoyed is to me the most important thing. You being able to share it story with us here is fantastic. I have lost count of the amount of purists which criticise every angle of it. I don't know where they got the impression I cared about their opinion? You would have thought I built it for them! I stay well away from them personally despite the sound members far out weighing those judgmental anoraks.

In my town there is a Jensen Interceptor in pretty much the same condition as this E type, perhaps a little worse. It seems to be the couples daily driver and often seen parked in the co op car park. It stands out because it’s not concourse!

It’s good to mix it up a bit. 😂

Seen this at Hinckley car show a few times and also locally on the roads, never been restored and used by the old boy who owns it to do his shopping. Seen here bumped up the kerb on double yellows. 😂

Wow! It looks drop-dead gorgeous, for something that hasn't been restored. Pretty good panel fit too.

I knew it. I looked at that Foose thing, and thought "they'll ruin that with shiny paint and alloys". Shiny brash wibblepoo for flash morons. It looked pretty lovely in the bare metal, and while those wheels are a bit too large in the diameter, their width and style are pretty perfect.

I like how its turned out. Great choice of colours, all the mods to the bodywork fit in perfectly. I'm not knocking it for being a convertible, but id prefer it if it was a coupe. And a shiney set of American wires in a slightly smaller size. Still gorgeous though.

Hm, I´m not so sure about the finished product. Somehow I see a Foose Tbird in here an early Corvette in here and a Porsche Speedster in here But who am I? Probably the guy who did not like Chips take on the vw split bus either?

I didn't know about the bus, so I had to look. no I don't like it either. On paper, what he did to it seems like a great idea, but in the metal it doesn't work for me.

Foose E Type looks great in the flesh. Wheels and all. Outstanding.

I didn't particularly like Foose's take on the bus or the Beetle he did, but most of his builds are good, if a little formulaic now - big wheels, low on aftermarket suspension, crate motor with chrome stuff, tuck in the bumpers and lose some trim. Nice to see a different base car.
