Gradually catching up with all the things on my things to do list, this was pretty high up there to get done and get finished.
A little bit of what goes on when we're running the show (mainly me looking increasingly tired haha)

Serious amount of work there and interesting to see the stuff that goes on behind the scenes.
Can I just ask, who was the trader with the yellow firenza? Couldn’t quite work out if it was for sale not and didn’t ask!!

Quite enjoyed that - I guess many people who attend wouldn’t realise that show set up starts on the Wed before the event.

That was like watching the Blair Witch Project only without all the twigs and snot and blubbing As timasorus said, one man's slow descent into madness Only thing is... litter picking? Who leaves litter at a thing like that? I didn't leave any litter * turns to next reader on thread* did you leave any litter? Nope... you? Nope. None of us left litter, surely? Did we? That's just not on. At the very least, everyone there at a car-sized receptacle in which to carry their litter away. Not really acceptable to leave it for the poor bstards... no, not that kind of bstardchild... who spent all week making the show happen, is it? I didn't bother posting any photos from the Gathering because everyone else did, but it seemed to me that some star crew moments deserve commemoration. Sorry I didn't pap everyone Microphone mugging by Nick Liassides, on Flickr Can't look at that without all sorts of captions erupting in my head. Usually along the lines of "Where's me washboard? 'Ave yer seen it?" Faces in the crowd by Nick Liassides, on Flickr Almost impossible to look at that without a Kenneth Williams voice-over sneaking in, too. OOoooh, and indeed, Matron.... Smoke em if you got em by Nick Liassides, on Flickr PPE? Does an orange hat count? Thanks again to all those gnomes, goblins and gallants who suffered for the cause behind the scenes

Not really acceptable to leave it for the poor bstards... no, not that kind of bstardchild... who spent all week making the show happen, is it? Please don't take this as a complaint or negative it's not - it's just something that happens in the background after the show We have to leave the venue as we found it - that's one of the conditions of hire - Bins up the hill were overflowing but we are grateful for people who at least put stuff beside the bins - fighting wasps and bagging it up, not so much fun...... The worst bit is the seating areas people tuck cups, cans and wrappers underneath the seats or wedge them in the wire fencing - these are an absolute nightmare if it's rained or is raining - I only fell over twice litter picking there - same as previous year and year before that - it always rains Monday morning after the show - every year I say I'm going to bring my old studded rugby boots and every year I curse that I didn't Campsite is always pretty good but I think we have "unrecognised" helpers on that front and a certain level of peer pressure (You know who you are and you have my whole hearted thanks) Public car park can be a bit patchy - some years good some not so much - 2018 not good so we put a skip there this year - 2019 almost sod all.... Show field I've never litter picked that because we take different areas We definitely got two of the skip placements wrong this year but we'll fix that for next year and ask to double up the steel bins on the hill Litter picking on the Monday is a very fast way to come down after the euphoria of the show I will say that much - it's also a very fast way down a slope without studs I'd happily pay a bunch of cadets to go round all day collecting litter (it's good to support local youth groups) if it meant we could leave the venue before 2pm on the Monday (it's never happened yet) So to all who put litter in bins (or even beside one because it was full) - Thank You To all those who tucked it under the seats or chucked it over the fence - can you find another show to go to please or if you like this one and want to come again don't do that any more - I'm not your mum

Litter picking on the Monday is a very fast way to come down after the euphoria of the show I will say that much - it's also a very fast way down a slope without studs I find it quite cathartic, cleaning up like you were never there. Although it is made a lot easier when people have been good with their litter and it isn't absolutely hammering down with rain. I was at the furthest point from any cover when the skies REALLY opened up. In that video I'm at Gloucester services about two and a half hours after I was in the field litter picking, my hoodie was still soaked through, even with can heaters on the whole time. We have the resurfacing costs now ... lots. As stated no line locks next time please

Having helped at many shows before I know how hard it is, but it all paid off so well done to the team and roll on the next one!
I don't normally watch videos on forums but I watched this to see the physical & mental decline you put yourself through!
