SOLD
1967 MK1 MGB GT for restoration.
Registered in February so could be be a 66 build date.
Only 5 owners since new 2 of these being the same person, showing 15k on the clocks witch more than likely mean 115k
Car is complete with no parts missing that i can tell.
Originally a white car and still showing white on the current V5
I bought the car as bit of an impulses buy, my plan was to use the wire wheels and hubs for my own car but i doubt i will ever get around to actually doing it.
More about the car itself.
Last on the road in i believe in 1996 when it was taken off the road for some welding work to the sills witch was never completed.
Dry stored since.
Passenger side.
Passenger floor is good
Outer sill is under a chrome cover so ive not checked it.
Inner sill is good
Castle rail is good.
However there is a large hole big enough to get your hand into where the castle rail meets the front arch this maybe repairable depending on how much time and money you want to put into it.
Drivers side
Well need complete new sill inner and outer castle rail also floor panel and part of the cross member witch have all mostly been cut out.
New 3 peace sill kit worth £200 included.
Boot floor looks solid enough and so do the rear chassis legs and spring hangers.
Rear drivers quarter panel would repair see photos.
Passenger rear quarter good.
Bulk head engine bay and front panels all look solid enough.
Original Alloy bonnet.
Front wings drivers looks good
Passenger has and the seem removed and flatted over not sure what lurks underneath.
Both doors look good enough.
Interior could be used again leather seats are very good.
Engine turns over by hand but no attempt has been made to start it. (missing fuel lines and batterys)
Complete with original dynamo still fitted air filters included just not shown.
Early gearbox with over drive.
To some it up i personally think the best route would to be a full restoration replacing panels than need to be replaced, Mk1 cars are getting thin on the ground now so worth spending the time and money to do it right.
How ever a competent welder should be able to do most of the repairs using cut out from new panels.
Please take your time looking through the photos as these will show the true condition.
I can also send a walk around video via watts app, which i'd recommend before travelling any distance.
Car is located in South Wales NP23.
If not sold before be the listing ends i may consider breaking it for parts.
