1978 Volvo 245 for Sale – tax and MOT free, extensive recommissioning work with many new parts Hi all, My 1978 Volvo 245 is up for sale after an extensive recommission spread over the last two years. I have a thread here in the readers rides section with a lot of detail about the work I’ve done. retrorides.proboards.com/thread/208849/1978-volvo-estate-impulse-purchase I’ll be at Retrorides Gathering in the car from Friday night onwards, so come over for a chat if you’re interested. I’m looking for £3.5k, but I’m open to offers so if you think it’s worth less then feel free to send me a message. This ad is a touch brief, but I wanted to get something up before Retrorides Gathering – I’ll update the ad with more pictures etc. after I return, assuming I still have the car! Cheers

Lovely looking Volvo. Wow, so much work put into the car to keep her going. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your resto thread. That's a very fair price all things considered. I'm tempted to buy it as I have a passion for old cars and that would be very usable. Only fly in the ointment is its a manual; and I hate driving manual cars. So instead I'll just wish you GLWTS. I'm sure someone will snap that up! I do find it strange (and irritating) how most of the 70s Volvos are manuals and most of the late 80s and 90s Volvos are auto.

Ah, I didn’t put that in the ad- the car is in Cambridge. To make things interesting I’m in London, so viewing it will take a tiny bit of organising and realistically will have to be at a weekend. Also, I’m away for a couple of weeks now so the next time I can be in Cambridge is the weekend of the 14/15th September... so perhaps an inconveniently timed ad, but I wanted to get something up before retro rides gathering. I’ll refresh this ad just before the 14/15th September with pictures and some additions to the list of bits that can come with it- everything I forgot to put in the post at the end of the build thread. Of course if Cambridge and early September work for you, let me know. Cheers

Hi, firstly good luck with your splendid estate. You show several seats in the thread, do you still have the surplus beige/brown leather ones? We too are looking to rebuild our 79 265 and are gathering bits.. Just cant get enough of those old long roofs! thanks, Jim (Norwich)
