I've changed over the way our hosting works so I can build more custom stuff for the site, including the Club Retro Rides registration system. So there may be a some oddness in the next 24 hours or so as various bits of systems update addresses and stuff. Fear not, it is all going as expected -David

Have cleared history etc. But, this comes up again, and on a mates iPhone Could it have something to do with the changes. On my iPhone since this morning. Not on the IPad Every time I open Retro Rides, this pops up. I cannot bypass it or access the threads. Try close it and these are the succession of actions in screenshots. Occasionally there is a similar thing on Volkszone. Next thing when you close the previous screen. At this point I close Safari and try again. None of the other forums have this issue now. Any ideas or advice? Thanks.

Yeah just got the same thing, but was on a local news site at the time, so I'm afraid I can't blame @hotwire at the moment, I'll have to look for something else!

You that'll be a nasty/rubbish advert that has got into Google Ads system. Will have a look and see if I can find it and remove it, handy that you have the link it goes to as it may well help with getting rid of it.

Itβs only happening on the mobile version of the site if you scroll to the bottom (quickly) before you win a new iPhone and click on desktop itβs all good unfortunately you wonβt win a new iPhone tho if you do it this way ,,

Probably best to report the advert pop ups on the relevant thread, this was to do with potential site outages I guess.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I really HATE mobile versions of websites.

I've gone through to try and find the ad, but we have such a large volume of different ads it is almost impossible to find. Searching on those domain names in Google ads doesn't help because they won't have put those domains as the owners of the ad. However I found that a couple more "sensitive" categories have been added alongside Gambling and Dating etc. etc. So I've turned those off. Those are usally the places you find the less salubrious ads being injected. Sadly I still need the adverts to help fund the forum hosting, the Club stuff has managed to offset a bunch of my hosting costs around image storage etc. but it doesn't cover the actual forum hosting. One day I'm sure it will and I can turn them all off, at least for registered users (good reason to register and all that). In news related to this thread directly it seems we've managed to move over to the new hosting stuff with almost zero issues. I'm going to deploy some code to it to test that it is now ready for me to program in the new environment and if that works I'll get the club stuff sorted (and then send out the welcome email so people can go and put in their details ). Will also then look at the image uploader and making that a whole bunch better. So thank you club members, you are already making RR a better place
