I think this will lead to an event which will be far less relaxed than the present set up which is the great appeal of the RR gathering. Also you may find that competitor get less track time as msa sprints at Goodwood are only 2 lap practice and then 2 x 1 lap timed runs. compared to the 6 laps in total we got this year at the RR gathering. This is for the Shelsley event, not the Weekender at Goodwood... Weekender ISN'T having a competitive event paired up with it. The Gathering should be pending all the paper work making sense.

Also note that the regs changed this year, so you only have to do a minimum of one practice instead of two. Lots of events throughout the country have gone to 1 practice and 3, 4, 5 or even 6 timed runs.

MSA affiliation opens up a whole world of possibilities, so don't worry about it getting intense.
Think organised road tours, timed autosolos and access to events by other clubs.
I'm not saying RR are thinking down those lines, but the options are there for the future. My ratty daily driver herald has taken part in more MSA events than I can recall and all of them have been a relaxing fun day spent with like minded people who want to have fun, but not spend a fortune or getting too deeply involved in money pit motorsport. RR's future certainly is looking interesting!

Sorry I'm getting the 2 events mixed up because your intro to this thread talked about an msa sprint not an msa hillclimb.

Hi Sorry I didn't mean to put a downer on your ideas it's just that I have been competing in sprints at Goodwood since 1994 and know how tight for timing sprint events can be if you have any delays due to any incidents on track which is more likely when you go from a track event to a full on competitive event. Just saying if something has worked well for 2 year's why complicate it. Unfortunately whilst it has worked reasonably well it’s more Retro Rides does Goodwood rather than Retro Rides at Goodwood - it’s a subtle difference but an important one - Retro Rides does shows/track events that “we” want to go to - Goodwood so far has been doing what Goodwood do and it’s not us. Last year the Autosolo was the highlight of my weekend albeit poorly attended (number of reasons for that which I really haven’t time to go into) In a nutshell we aren’t going to keep doing what we have done because that becomes predictable

We're going to do it anticlockwise? Funny you should say that, we asked, but it was a no (due to saftey barrier placements being designed.for cars heading a certain direction, which makes sense). Quick update from today about club stuff. Club membership numbers are now assigned to everyone Individual discount codes for the store now generated and assigned Club system to go and get these things about half a day from completion Worked out how to eliminate ads on forum for particular users, need to test it though So progress is still progressing, sorry it is a bit slower than I'd like, but we'll get it right.

No but we are going to do something different (Hopefully)

No but we are going to do something different (Hopefully) Drag racing (with handicaps otherwise blackpopracing would probably win hands down)

After I posted I realised that there were probably a few other cars (yours included) around that would make a good race.

Got my welcome email today. Thanks very much.
It landed in my "junk" folder though, so worth looking there if you've not got yours yet.

More likely to be my settings I would think. That said, you're the expert, not me.
Thanks for all your hard work.
