90's super touring cars - easily the best era of touring cars. Really love the style of these and the tech level they reached was crazy. Been meaning to get a post going for these for a while, but as I'm sad about my broken Honda today seems like good timing! Some favourites and some more obscure cars below Let's start with an Accord: With a more Japanese flavour: Volvo 850 estate - Toyota Corolla - (even cooler than a WRC one) Mazda 323 - Audi 80 - Anyone else got some favourites/memories of this era of touring cars?

We keep finding things for him to sign and then winding him up that it’ll be worth something when he dies 😂😂

I remember the controversy when this bad boy arrived during the peak of the 90s BTCC. AWD grip in a traditionally 2WD series really shook things up, to the point that AWD was banned a few years later!

Even our Nige had a go, I remember him racing at Donington in the pouring rain. And his massive accident there in ‘93

That's my favourite motorsport moment, remember watching it with my dad, obviously at the time I didnt know any different, however now... TOCA on Playstation was my first game, spent hours on that (CMGARAGE being the cheat for all the cars) driving the Mondeo, or the Laguna. What a game

I remember when I was going to Thruxton this was in the scrutineering shed for years, I think it mysteriously dissappeared in 2015 or so so might even have been built up into a full car by now if it made it's way into the right hands.

"I'm going for first"! couple years earlier in the astra, murray said that cleland was only going to allow phil dowsett to get away with that 2 more times.

over in south africa, MSD were running supertouring astra saloons with mike briggs and grant mcleery. i think the reason for this is that they were marginally lighter than cavaliers, and the saloon was much longer than the hatchback just breaching the minimum length of 4 meters.
