I'm looking for a rather cheap Boxster if anyone knows of any? Pre-2000, I'm obviously not expecting a minter by any stretch and don't mind a bit of work, I'm looking for sub £2.5k so appreciate there won't be many but curious if anyone has anything? I'm based in Leicester so obviously the closer the better but willing to travel

I'll advise of some. But after having a cheap 944 I suggest the budget goes up unless you are after 2.5s only. Even things like radiators and suspension parts can soon drive the cost up on a Boxster. They were a £30k+ car new back in the 90s remember . I won't say what I put into my first S2, but it's fair to say a £4k example would have been cheaper to run, like my Turbo was. On both, I did most of the work myself as well.

Thanks Chas, always appreciate advice, unfortunately I can't stretch to £4k as wouldn't leave anything behind for repairs, think I may have to look at cheaper models, Z3 or a TT maybe

Currently driving a '68 Karmann Ghia as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

The fact that my Mondeo MkIII V6 drove better on 260k and original suspension over a sub £2k TT speaks volumes IMHO to the point where I thought "Why am I looking at this POS?!. That's before I get to to the dash needing work in the usual areas (LCD display bad and a bad temp gauge) in addition to broken switchgear. Maybe I've picky or I got unlucky, but these days, I'm sick of buying moneypits, especially when I have worthless cars on moon mileage in better condition.
