It's a long time since I have scrapped a car and wondered what the best course of action is these days
Mk 2001 suzuki swift in a lovely shade of faded tornado pink was set on fire by idiots on friday. It destroyed the passenger seat and headlining and covered the interior in soot but still runs and drives. It seems too good to just throw away, but is probably a waste of money to fix and use. As it weighs half of nothing I imagine scap value would be pretty poor, any suggestions what to do next?

Strip the interior and turn it into a track car?
With light weight, go kart handling, and can easily be towed on a light trailer/a-frame, seems like the perfect option for a good time.

Put it one of the electronic auction sites has spares & repairs - if its running & drives its likely to draw some bids / interest

I don’t feel there is much money in scrap at the moment.
Those swifts I think are sometimes used in classic mini engine conversions and I’m sure if that’s the intended purpose they would be prepared to pay above scrap.
Call a scrap man, get an idea of value and the list it online at a small % more. Someone gets some use out of it and it’s not been binned.

Motorwise seem to pay the most for scrap cars. They are part of Charles Trent so the cars are broken and resold in pieces

Stick it on eBay spares or repair "runs drives etc" Someone will buy it and remove it
If you get a scrappy to take it away you either won't get anything for it or you could end up paying them to remove it

I stuck my Berlingo on eBay when the clutch came through the bell housing, sold within 4 hrs and collected within 2 of being sold. All for more than the scrap comparison sites.
