Rob (Marina_Coupe),
Get a set of Mk1 Golf headlamps and do away with the standard candles! They are the same size and are lovely halogens! No need to mess around with the loom too much! I agree the cibies would look cool on the ol'girl!

The ones on my Mk1 Golf are terrible Must get around to relaying them, it's supposed to make a noticeable difference...

Where did you get the kit from??!
Me 16v is lightless at the moment whilst I fit the new loom but if the mini kit bolts in nicely then I may swing that way!

That was a good price. I've bid on a few sets but the price has allways gone stupid!

I made a Relayed Headlamp loom that just plugs in to the original wiring, with 1 relay for Dipped beam and one for Main beam. This means the lights actually see full power from the battery as opposed to the 10v or so that the standard golf wiring allows That makes a huge difference on its own. The spots are Relayed again straight from the battery but switched from the existing main beam, so they only come on with Mains. All this is seperate from the vehicle loom, so if there is a problem I can just Unplug the new wiring and resort back to standard candle power to get home ;D Its fairly simple to do, and so worth it.... I relayed the wiring on my Scirocco, and very rarely used main beam after that, they were so much brighter.. If you need any more infor just shout and I`ll try to find some links Cheers Dom
