This is a rare opportunity to purchase a model which seldom come up for sale. The number of Chevanne’s left is believed to be fewer than 20, with less than half of them actually on the road.
This particular van is a 1980, V reg, which I have owned for the past 7 years.
It was purchased in 2012 as an ongoing project. Which over a period of a year turned into a full restoration. Over that time extensive metal work was carried out to the floors, inner and outer sills, rear inner and outer wheel arches, scuttle panel, doors, battery tray and inner wings.
A period Richard Grant Accessories body kit was sourced and a bare metal paint job undertaken. All areas behind the bodykit, were painted before fitting.
All of the suspension was stripped, shot blasted and powder coated gloss black. It was then reassembled with new poly bushes and stainless steel fasteners throughout. The opportunity was also taken to fit 40mm lowering springs. Bilstein has shocks were also fitted.
The brakes were completely replaced. New cupro nickel lines made up. Hel stainless brake flex is were also installed.
The history of the engine and gearbox was unknown, so genuine 15k miles units were sourced and fitted. Along with matching speedo.
Along with a load of new, and some refurbished, interior and exterior parts. The van was finished off with a set of Chevette HS Alloys and 205/60 13 tyres.
All of the work undertaken was photographed and documented, along with a stack of receipts which will all be included.
Since completion in 2013, the van has constantly been enhanced and upgraded to what is for sale in front of you today. The biggest upgrades were made in 2016 when the engine was stripped, purely to carry out some tuning/performance upgrades.
This work included:
Fitting of a Blydenstein Big Valve Head (ported & polished)
Bottom End Lightened & Balanced,
Kent VC2 (mild road) cam
Very rare, one piece aluminium Coburn rocker cover/inlet manifold, Weber 28/36 DCD Carburettor & K&N Air filter
Electric fuel pump
Janspeed 4 Branch Manifold, Ashley Sports Competition Exhaust, Lumenition Optronic Electronic Ignition,
Spin On Oil Filter & Oil Cooler, Electric Fan.
Triple Core Radiator.
At the same time a modified bell housing was also sourced, allowing for the fitting of Ford Type 9 5 Speed Gearbox. The speedo was then sent away to speedy cables to be recalibrated.
Custom ‘Blydenstein’ vinyl graphics were also created and applied to to the side panels to complement the engine work carried out.
The van currently has 21,388 miles on the clock.
The MOT expires 27/7/2019, but I am more than happy to get a new 12 month ticket if the buyer desires.
The Chevanne is very well known in Vauxhall circles and has very much been a labour of love over the last 7 years. It is only up for sale due to the loss of indoor storage.
As with any classic vehicle there are a couple of areas that could be improved upon, but overall I believe it is very well sorted van.
Viewings are highly encouraged. It is also currently taxed so test drives are available.
Also included in the sale is a large number of Chevette/Chevanne spares. To include; glass, bonnet, lights, gearbox, axle, heater, interior items, service items etc etc.
Priced at £7250 or nearest offer
