Hi folks - I'm after a bit of advice: The Mrs has bought a new boring modern to replace the 2004 MX5 she has had for the last 14 years - the car came with a personalised number plate which my wife has never been particularly attached to: OO 04 MXS, so we have transferred it onto retention prior to hopefully selling the car. So the question is - what is the best way to sell a registration number?
cheers

ebay or MX5 owners groups i'd say.
Not sure how much you'd get for it to be honest as i'd say there are 1000s of MX5 variants already out there that could be more personal to an owner than ooo a MX5

Thanks mate - I take your point about the value - it is more a case of the car being worth very little (with or without the numberplate) so its worth trying to sell it separately.

Hi, TBH I would say it hasn't got a great enough value that some one would buy it, even you don't want it and you can have it for free. Having said that it could be worth a post or two on a relative forum.

You may well be right about the value colnerov but if we can get something for it that will be great. MX5 owners club seem to require you to be a member to advertise on their forum (but allow you to post about other things for free!), I think I'll be posting on farcebook and seeing where that gets me. cheers R
