	I've always had a soft spot for "King of the Mountain", it was shown on BBC late at night not long after we got our first video recorder. Set in the 70s street racing scene of Mulholland Drive in LA, it has Harry Hamlin and Dennis Potter in it. Lots of seventies cheesy music (some of the people are in a band trying to get a deal), lots of street racing. Probably looks very dated now. I spent ages tracking down a "proper" VHS copy because in the rush to find a tape, I missed the beginning off my recording. Turns out I'd missed less than a minute and I'd have been fine with what I had.

	Sudden Impact, despite being the utterly most shatulatory offering in the occasionally patchy Dirty Harry franchise, does feature to the best of my knowledge the only big-screen appearance of the coolest Mazda ever built, the REPU (or Rotary Engine Pick Up) And is therefore worthy of commendation. Terrible film though

	John Wayne film 'McQ' featured a 73 Brewster Green Pontiac Trans Am. Needless to say it gets destroyed. I read somewhere that they only made 30 or 40 in that colour. Apparently Steve McQueen was originally to star in it, but turned it down as he didn't want to be type-cast... hence the name I guess. John Wayne looks way too old for the part, but the car looks great.

	One of my hobbies away from cars is tracking down film locations and visiting them for my site rewoundandfound.com (wee plug for the site). In 2017 I visited locations from Smokey and the bandit (including the bridge jump site above) and the start line from Cannonball run. Yesterday I found myself in LA so swung by the Portofino Inn, Redondo beach and visited the finish line. The full set will be uploaded to rewoundandfound.com when I get home, Dave
