My mk3 estate is coming up for MOT
The car is very solid, apart from the front Jack points on the sill.. or not jacking points perhaps judging by the state of them.
They have been folded over in the past and the rust has gotten in and eaten the front of the outer sill away. It's also eaten into the floor a bit as you may see from the picture .. sorry about the quality it was wet.
Both sides are the same, about 9 inches at the front of the sill.
I'm a diesel tech by trade but don't really dabble in bodywork. I have a welder but I don't think I could tackle it.
What sort of costs would this incur?? Of course it'll be worse than it looks I'm sure. the inner sills look fine from shining a torch inside.
I'm on a tiny budget at the moment so this may outweigh the cars worth.
