hi, here i have my chevy corvair monza;
the car has stacks of paperwork with it, it is a 1965 car, that was imported in 1995. i have the bill of sales from 1994 just before it was shipped. i also have the certificate of title from north carolina. the car has a data sheet from when it left the factory. there is a original maintanace booklet, with the metal dealership stamp for this specific car in, and an original handbook. i have loads of other paperwork, some from the states and some from over here, bills, invoices for parts etc. i have tax dics, the latest being 2010, and mot cetificates, the latest being 2009. i also have neumerous catalouges, magazines, books, manules etc with the car. the current uk v5 document is in my name and only has had 3 previous owners since it was imported and registered over here.
bodywork; it has had a respray, i don't know how long ago, but i should imagine within the last 6 years or so. the colour is fantastic and has been done spot on. there are a couple of minor defects/ blemishes showing through now though- nothing major.
the inside of the car hasnt been touched, so the original paint is still on the dash etc. the boot and bay areas are still in their original satin black, factory finish.
the car doesnt appear to have had any welding, and has been stored well and in the dry for a long time. rock solid car.
interior; all original and complete. there is a brand new set of carpets ready to be fitted, however i have left these out to enable people to take a look at the floors. the original seats and door cards are in decent condition, but could do with a clean.
chrome; bumpers are straight as arrows, to be honest i don't think i have ever seen a 60's car with all- original chrome as good as this. there is slight signs of age, but overall extreamly good condition- obviously its helped by the fact that its been well looked after and dry stored sice its been over here. there is a minor defect showing in one of the rear screen chrome trim surround peices.
spares; the boot is packed with spares. theres mechanical componants, many new, boxes of nos over-riders and all sorts of goodies. some chrome arch trims, mirrors, etc. way too much to list out!
mechanics; the car only has 76,000 miles on the clock. it has obviously been stored up for a number of years, and hasnt had a good run for a long time. however the car will start straight away, and sounds just like you would expect from a georgeous flat six. its a auto, and very easy and freindly to drive. just a simple slide lever on the dash- park, reverse, drive and low range. the chevy has just been to my local garage, the mechanics did some work on the brakes, made some adjustments to the engine to get it running smoother, and checked over the car to make sure its fully roadworthy. i have driven the car home after collecting it (only a short jurney) and it was a very enjoyable ride, i couldnt fault it!
the car is tax exempt, and also mot exempt (hence why i had the garage check the car over and give me the piece of mind that it is a fully roadworthy car).
I'm looking for £8000 for the chevy. the car is located in hertfordshire. i can organise recovery transport if needed by a local firm.
all in all, a rare car, and a very stylish and original corvair monza.
any questions, just email me, thanks, matt
