National Hot Rods in the sun at Arena Essex in 1989 - as a formula they were just starting to develop into the fully space framed formula they are today - but there were still a few semi space framed vehicle in the field around this time. Not sure about the Mk3 Escorton display here.

Little piece in the local paper, bought 4 reliant robins in various states of repair and an early 240 estate from the same seller. We were initially planning to race 3(mine was the van). We only managed to get 2 running(blew the engine in one) and raced at Sheffield's Owlerton Stadium. Turns out they are more stable than people think, until the point someone nudges you...then it all goes wrong!! Great times. Porsche 924 belonged to Shaun who was racing in the PCGB 924 championship at the time, and piloted the other car we were able to ready.

I always thought the Robins would be a slightly naff novelty support formula when I first heard about them, but the first time I saw them race I realised they are both quicker and more stable than you would ever give them credit for, and they have the tendency to make as much mess as the caravans. Afew years ago I was somewhat surprised to see this turn up at Bexhill Classic Show. Check out the rear wings! Afew weeks/months later I saw it turn up and race at Eastbourne. Easily the most entertaining thing Ive ever seen on track. On the subject of Eastbourne, a couple of months ago I randomly found a poster of a meeting that would have been last night, had it not been cancelled for obvious reasons. The poster had some period photographs on it, one of which was of my dad, bonus points for it being one I never seen before. I now have this as an A3 size poster on my wall. The fact that it was cancelled is oddly fitting in a way. Circled for your benefit. Also available on a mug, 1 of 1 ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

Always scope for a well used cortina boiling the hide... Another example of why I wanted to have a go. I once bought a Mark 4 1.6L for ยฃ40...had only done 39k before being parked in a yard..if only such things could still be found!

National Super Rods on the shale at the defunct Ashby Ville Raceway in Scunthorpe.. That's the first time I've seen the Tim Foxlow Sierra. I used to lend an occasional hand when he was racing his self built Capri out of KEMS garage in the mid '80s, the Sierra was pro-built and run (Empress(?) istr). Tim is still active today, racing on the circuits (mostly at Oulton Park) in a very cool Sonny Howard-built spaceframe Escort. ![](https://scontent-lhr8-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/18623551_10155335581502248_2484823456810831451_o.jpg?_nc_cat=110&_nc_sid=13bebb&_nc_ohc=0bc1470y45gAX-Zvcis&_nc_ht=scontent-lhr8-1.xx&oh=5332b2411a7cba6175e225ffd0f4504b&oe=5F07E93F)

I had a quick search but couldn't find anything, I'm sure ive seen one dressed up as a saloon stock at some point. What I did find is sort of related, some images from a 1971 movie 'Nu sha shou'. No idea what that means, but you might want to peek through your fingers

This appeared on an FB group earlier today, think it would find an appreciative audience here.... Similarly this image of a Cresta in action at Brands Hatch, plus one other shot - neither of these are my pictures.

thanks for finding all of those
when I was around 12, my older brother took me to mendips raceway, and there was this very smart looking PA, done all over in silver with I think red writing saying SILVER MACHINE, this was at the time (1972) Hawkwind was in the charts with "silver machine" which would of made the car around 12 years old, that car has stayed with me to this very day.

I looked it up on youtube but there is another film of the same name. I really need to see it now, or at least the scene those photos are from.

I used to play it quite a bit but it got boring. Ive been waiting for an excuse to get an Xbox or PS4 as my laptop isnt quite up to it. Id like to see Westys, A60's and Wimbledon. They are available on mods but would be great to see them in the full game.
