Some service history and owners manuals all present.
I’ve had my mk2 for 2 years now and it has been my daily driver in that time.
The car has never failed to start, even during the winter months it’s been no problem. It can rev quite high when idling when the engine is cold but it settles down when the engine gets closer to temperature and is nice and quiet.
The auto box is smooth and changes up and down as it should.
Bodywork wise it’s very presentable, it’s not immaculate by any means but still looks good with the paint in great condition, it’s always been waxed and polished since it been in my ownership, and the trim always been treated to keep it looking good.
The only bit of rust that can be seen on the body work is just under the rear number plate ( about the size of a 5p coin), all the doors are rust free, scuttle panel is spotless and also round the filler neck is rust free too.
There is a a few scratches here and there but nothing that stands out, the rear drivers side door has a small crease in it, looks like someone has hit it with a door in a car park ( this is the only thing that lets the bodywork down).
The sunroof is in good condition, it opens smoothly and doesn’t leak at all.
Underneath is solid, one of the main reasons I bought the car is because it was solid and rust free. I wasn’t looking for an automatic but the condition of the car both underneath and bodywork wise was a big plus for me and outweighed the fact it has an auto box.
The interior is in good clean condition, the drivers seat has abit or wear but nothing major. I believe the the seats may be from a Gti.
It has a momo steering wheel fitted, it has abit of wear to it. I have the original wheel which I was going to fit when I bought the car but the momo grew on me so I kept it on.
The heaters work and get nice and hot.
The car has central locking which works which opens and locks all doors.
It’s been lowered on coilovers, not sure what brand they are but I’m guessing they are budget ones. The ride can be abit harsh but if your used to driving cars that have been lowered then this won’t be an issue.
Fitted with g60 steels with 2 good tyres and 2 that need changing.
Also have another set of fox alloys that originally were in the car when I bought it and they can be fitted if the g60s are not wanted.
The car drives really well, it has power assisted steering, it’s not like modern cars but it does help when parking etc. It’s fitted with a stainless custom back box which is fitted to the standard system. It’s nice and quite with normal driving but has a nice tone when you accelerate.
It’s still fun to drive, even though people slag the automatic mk2’s off I haven’t had a problem with it. Obviously a manual gives you more control but the auto box isn’t all that bad and I enjoy driving it and never fails to put a smile on my face.
That’s about it, it’s a solid rust free mk2 that drives well, looks the part and gets a lot of attention when driving and more often than not will get a comment or two from someone at the petrol station etc. It isn’t perfect but it’s a 28 year old daily driver. Will be sad to see this car go.
Please ask any questions, will take more pictures on request. Also have a walk round video that I can send if needed.
