Finally got myself sorted and just fitted lower springs and new shocks as the others were getting old.. Need to sort out some nice wheels, I don't want to fit the normal Minilights as i don't want a rally car look, so thinking of some of my fav wheels 5 spoke Revolutions either 7x15 0r 6x15 or even a combination of both and stagger them..I know a lot like the wider steel wheels but i would like something differnt and that suite the age of the car hence the Revs. I have just recieved new seat covers so hoping to find a good upholsterer soon to fit them. I have also go a retro look DAB radio and fitting speakers so not to cut any trim or panels..

Many thanks, i must admit the longer i own it the more I love it...nice and simple to work on and easy to drive plus parts are not to bad at all to get.. I'm on the look out for a good head for it so i can have is gas flowed and valve inserts for un-leaded fitted.. It will make swapping over easier than having this head worked on.

Its only a rough mock-up but i think i will go with Revolutions but stagger them, 7" at the rear and 6" on the fronts with 205 and 195 tyres.. this keeps the gearing correct but should not make the steering too heavy and help with the clearance when on full lock.. Ill see what they look like black could paint the spokes the same colour as the car..

These always remind me of a Rover P5 which isn’t a bad thing.

Yes very similar but I'm my opinion even nicer and a lot lighter and also simple to work on.. But a V8 would be nice but not going down that route.. it's a cruiser so just some mild tunning in the future..I would never cut this car in any way.

I remember liking these cars as a kid, and still do...looking forward to seeing which wheels you pick.

always keen to see another amazon build. good looking car, need more pics Iv gone down the twin carbs, D cam and gas slowed head myself, makes a difference. I would defiantly recommend installing electronic ignition. and if you don't have an overdrive, start looking. my amazon learning curve... i need to replace the photo bucket pics... forum.retro-rides.org/thread/193743/amazon-wagon-t25-friends

I was hoping to have the shots with the Volvo lowered and the new wheels but they jumped the gun a little bit... Its still good to see the cars in print and the chaps at PPC are a great bunch. Hoping to have a bigger spread on the Elf when its finished and hopefully the Amazon too.

Not yet will do when it's closer to be finished, reason being I have been working on the Elf for a few years and don't want to give the game away regarding power plant chassis layouts, suspensions etc until its almost completed. So the link will be very close to when I know its finished..plus it will not bore people over such a long time so hopefully a quick overall view of the build over a few weeks.

I don't like a car without music so i bought a retro style DAB radio with USB input and also fitted a dummy shelf at the back to mount a pair of 6.5in speakers as i did not want to cut the original shelf... it works quite well and looks the part but wish the front was alloy and not plastic.

I have a soft spot for these, the colour suits it well. Where did you get the radio if you don't mind me asking?

A Company called Classic Car Stereo. just type it into google. As i said it works OK but expected a better finish for the money, but as i did not want to cut the dash for a modern unit this was the only option.. its a shame because a modern unit would have been half the price and much better quality.. but wrong style.

closeup of the wheels with Tuner wheel nuts, these a lot cleaner looking that standard sleeve nuts that i use on the race car. I just fits over the local speed ramps all that touches is the mud flaps, so that's a bonus too. New Interior next..all standard seats but nice new covers, webbing and padding plus new carpets..

Cheers for that, i have always loved Revs I have bought many from them over the years and never had any problems with them in any way, they are tough and easy to keep clean. The racing weight ones on my hill climb car are so light one competitor thought they were magnesium wheels...Plus they really do suit the age of my cars.
