four95 , you too Trevor! Even if I don’t use all of it, we have a D21 Navara, weirdly in the same purple and an RB20 B2500 so I’m sure it’ll all come in useful at some point. The floors and arches are all mine though haha! Hope to catch you at one of the Gatherings or something, I owe you a beer! Also you need to get up a thread on your truck, I gotta see it!
Trevors truck is pure awesomeness. V8, was on air years before everyone else - pure genius - AND I will own it some day, I just know it.
It was out for MOT when I went up so missed it sadly. Hopefully will see it one day!

Had the day off today o figured I'd get down to the truck and see what's what. Started to put some of the vinyl on, remembered that stuff doesn't stick to rust that well! Might have to revert to paint to get the look I'm after but will see how the decals hold up over night. Got a couple of big K&N decals on order so they'll hopefully tie it together nicely. Need to speak to the local vinyl guy and get a couple door numbers made up too, looking forward to it! Took some time to pack the new bed too so that it's not so precarious... I've been itching to clean up the glass on this damn thing, it was all so grim! Pleased to report that all the old sticker residue is gone and you can actually now see through all the windows, it's the little wins... The headlights were so dim, I figured that it was just a 30yr old truck thing, but no! I tried cleaning the lights up but nothing was shifting the grime, had to crack out the blade! They were both coated with so much grot that it was piling up on the blade... Check out the difference! The picture doesn't really do it justice but the headlights now actually project! I also fitted a shifter extension I was given which puts the gearknob in a much better position, but you can now see the problem I have... The centre console is gonna have to go under the knife! But I knew this anyways. Grizz sent me this awesome Indian skull which I think I'm gonna tack into the bed when it's all sorted... I had been struggling to start recently, I guessed this was down to the cold weather and the crummy battery. Switched the battery out, no joy. Even the mighty Ford Puma couldn't jump the truck to life, it was turning over but just not firing. Electrics weren't a problem. Figured it was probably fuel. The fuel gauge doesn't read correctly due to the fuel cell, gave it a can's worth, no good. Hmmm, spark? No spark. This might have been due to the fact that the plug in cylinder 4 was under about an inch of water. Wack. Condensation dripping off the bonnet vent right into the head. Took AAAAAAGES to get the dang plugs out, had to buy a new extension and everything! Motherhubbard! Plugs weren't looking too fresh, gave em all a clean up and back in. BOOM! Started first turn of the key! Even the AFR's were down, it was running perfectly. Gave me a proper boost to get it on the road, can't wait! Also need to get some all black hoses, the mismatch wind me right up...

Thanks for the kind words David. I've been getting a few jobs done on it recently. New bed, new wings and I've just had all the cab floor welded up too now. I was thinking about selling it late last year rather than do all the work when I spotted another truck I really wanted for sale, but I'm glad I didn't now. Still loads to do but I'm in no rush, I will have owned it for 20 years in April. I've still got your number if I change my mind.....

Looking good Marcus, enjoying seeing the progress. Those stickers work best when warmed over - should still be possible after they've been installed. Also, just a thought... what about welding in sides and major (side) floor sections of the bed - but leaving the centre clear behind the fuel cell... covered with a sheet of 10mm clear polycarbonate? Allows the NASCAR look and keeps Mr MOT happy...? Currently on serious pain relief, so probably stupid / rambling ideas - please discard as required 😉 PM me contact info please; My son may have some stuff we can send you...

Yeah I could have deffo benefitted from a hairdryer or something when doing it but sadly my garage is nowhere near my house and is just a rental with no power ☹️ I do like that idea! I’ll see how we go when we get to that point, hopefully not too long! Ooooh, interesting, I’ll drop you a PM now. Cheers!

Definitely one of my fav builds on here, keep the updates coming! Thanks dude! I been itching to get on and do some stuff to it. I hate how work gets in the way of life!
Payday has come and gone so I ordered myself/the truck some treats. Nice new race battery, a chin spoiler/splitter which I'll endeavour to make fit, (it's not for a B2000 so we'll see how that goes), some more decals and some LED bulbs. Looking forward to the weekend, provided we don't get a covering of the cold white stuff...

This looks great. Soooo much room in that 'bay and a very tidy install. I have a supercharger for the MX5 engine in the Sandrail, but baulking at the price of after-market ECU's to do it properly. Love the style, in fact I prefer that it looks longer than most, makes it look leaner and meaner. Going to look even better with some big A numbers on it

Yeah there’s tonnes of room in there, sideways anyways. Ideal for a V8 lol Oooh is there a thread for yours? Sounds ace! I did wonder about an S/C but I understand turbos more haha ECU’s are pricy but I went for used, slightly older tech and only cost me £250 or something? Thanks for the kind words bud, I am looking forward to getting it to look how I imagine.

Yea the turbo is the more usual route for an MX5, that's a good price. - I'll post about the S/C I found in my thread so as not to hi-jack!

Couple of little bits done today, not quite as much as I wanted but there's always tomorrow, if the weather isn't too bad. First up, I bought some LED headlight bulbs. They. Are. Bright. It's hard to tell from the picture but they're retina-burning, sorry other road users... Popped in my new compact battery, (old battery for scale) I also got some paint to see if I could replicate my " grizz Stripes", pretty pleased with the first test, need many more coats though and also some warmer weather really. Come across a bit of a problem though, the truck was struggling to start again. It also backfired like a grenade going off, my ears are still ringing somewhat, cleaned up the plugs again but was still missing under load. Called my good mate and mechanic, who had just finished working on his truck (400bhp RB20DET B2500), diagnosed as a faulty coilpack. Joy. But no bother, cheap and easy to replace. Another item for the shopping list! So that's the update for the week. Was gonna do my splitter as well, but on inspection it's going to need slightly more work than, "bolt on and wander off" so I couldn't be bothered today. Maybe when the truck is in a nice warm workshop.

Yup. I'm gonna use the stripes you sent I reckon to maybe do some pinstriping elsewhere on the truck.

Slow news day today! Haven't done hardly anything on the truck the past couple weeks. Mostly down to the weather being sh*te. I was itching for something to do, so I went to Timpsons and bought a suede brush and figured I'd try to bring some life back into my OMP wheel as it was pretty hanging! 1x wheel 1x suede brush 1x bowl of hot soapy water 10x elbow grease As you can see, it was in pretty rough shape (I have no idea what the green drink is). One half sorta sorted, but you can see the difference! And about an hour later, it looked like this. Pretty pleased really. I could probably do another hour on it but I'm not sure I can really be arsed. And this is the bowl of grimness...
