Yeah, our 'big freezer' lives in the garage at the moment (well at the moment it lives in the dining room) but will go back in thr garage untill the house is extended. Another good day today, great weather, took the car to a local show for a couple of hours but then back on the garage. More painting done on woodwork and caulked all the seams on the garage doors. Outside floodlamp wired in and all interior lights now fitted & wired in.
Also started fitting new noggins in the roof - I'm losing the centre ones for the rear spolier to fit in between when jacking the car up, will also lose the middle one over the bench and where I will fit the roof heater.

More progress tonight, shelves going up, gotta love my laser level, makes it so easy. And all brackets now up for the first set. 'Hamish' the keyholder has been restored to his rightful place, named after our sadly deceased old black cat. HiFi shelf fitted and towel dispenser refitted.

Still painting stuff, still plodding on. Electrickery times After chatting with our works sparky I have changed out the MCB in the house panel for an MCBO so if I trip the garage it will no longer trip the house wiring. Safer for garage wiring as well. I have a few plugs - not sure if I got enough?.............. Plugs are starting to get fitted. and bodged a quick mount for the infra red heater as I keep tripping over it, safe up there and it will be mounted there permanently in the future.

It won't cause issues to the roof of your pop, slowly getting baked by that?

I suggest some sockets with USB charge built in

Pop does not go that far forward in garage to be under the lamp. USB socket plug in centre of plug photo

Slightly envious of Mark - has he can stack & shelve everything out - but that would be a nightmare in my workshop has I regularly use it for paintwork - shelves / tools along with everything else get covered in paint - I keep everything to a minimum in the workshop all racked away in cupboards or drawers - I have one small shelve for the radio but any shelves / rafters etc just harbour dust which is a vehicle painters enemy - I would dearly love to have the space to build a clean room but unsure if I will ever get the chance to purchase the piece of land to the side of the garage - none the less what Mark has is an inspiration to others

I have a cunning plan for the shelves Chris, note the top shelf on hifi and shelving. This is not for putting things on, but to fix plastic sheeting to so it can drop down to cover shelves when painting. Also note the filler pieces along the edge of the roof rafters to get rid of the dust shelf on the top of the walls. There will be other tricks to minimise dust areas as well as protect stuff from getting covered in paint when spraying.

More wiring today, not any progress photo worthy though. I did start to insulate the gable ends though with 50mm Kingspan panels. This serves 2 purposes, insulation obviously - but also it closes off all the gaps around the joists to the wall so no dust/spider traps and so less issues when painting.
