Ccollected this last night. It drove home very nicely indeed.
146,000 miles on the clock, a very full and comprehensive service history, 4 recent tyres and a handy tow bar fitted.
Could do with the drivers seat being looked at as the bolster is worn and the electric seat switches are hanging off. Currently the electric mirrors switch doesn't work and the drivers window goes down easily but it struggles to go back up.
Hardly a mark on it too.

Definitely not a connoisseur, no leather. Club? I adore them, bought one for my parents 3 years all good. CDT is a tough barsteward!

Had a 75 Tourer as my daily, bought new in 2003, until it died in April of this year. Much underrated cars. Some good ones still about and cheap as chips - although the BMW engined diesels still command a good price if high spec and in good nick.
Certainly wouldn't mind another . . . .

Mine was a Club SE, similar cloth but manual seats. Mine was a 1.8 Turbo, had the ZT map so it was 160 rather than 150 with a manual boost valve. Only daily I regret selling, loved it which is more than can be said for the Focus that replaced it!

Mechanic's rule #1... If the car works, anything left on the floor after you finished wasn't needed in the first place

I really like these. I drove afew of them when i worked at a mg/rover garage, seem to remember the claim that they were so smooth you could stand a penny on the dash and it wouldnt fall over.

It is a connoisseur but with a special order of cloth seats not leather. Apparently not everyone can get on with leather being cold in winter and hot in summer. No one who has seen it has ever seen cloth electric seats so it must be fairly rare specification.

I didn’t think the connoisseur did come with leather on the facelift unless it was the se? I believe the top spec became the Contempory SE on the facelift where as top spec on pre facelift was the Connoisseur SE.

Unfortunately the clutch pedal went to the floor and stayed there on Saturday evening. I pulled it back up again by hand and it has worked perfectly since.
I will get it looked at tomorrow as something isn't right and I suspect the master cylinder has a problem.

Greetings from a fellow 75 owner! Unfortunately clutch /clutch hydraulics can be a weakness on these, especially the CSC in the bellhousing.

Would love a tourer but most are out of my price bracket at the moment.
That looks a lovely car.

A lovely looking machine you have there...
I have always had a soft spot for the 75.
It is a crying shame that it never got the recognition it deserved!

I paid €495 for ours. Spent that again undoing the neglect of previous (second) owner. Not perfect but it's solid as can be. Word from the wise: change the slave cylinder now too if money runs to it, they don't last a long time, ours has had 1 a year...

It is booked in for tomorrow. The garage will check the slave cylinder as well as replace the master cylinder too.
It is supposed to have had a new clutch and slave cylinder less than 2 years ago.

Got the electric mirrors working well this afternoon.
The electric window switches are now working but the drivers window goes down easily but is hard to get to go up again untill it is one third way up and then it goes up easily.

It's quite a lot of labour to replace the slave....if it needs doing be sure to get a quality part. I have used LUK, and if the slave is done may as well do the plate etc too.
