Watched your progress videos and found it very informative. That inner scuttle area looks surprisingly sound. A good dose of epoxy will see it good. I was also half expecting for that Astra to end up going full chat backwards into that fence.

Did some more on the bulkhead panels. Gave them a final skim of filler, then applied a couple of coats of UPOL Gravitex textured underbody seal. Looks shiny but will dry matt black. Might go over the top again with satin black.

This is how the gravitex dried, nice dull grey colour. Not so flashy. Put brushable seam sealer over my welded areas to tidy it up. Used electrical tape as a masking tape to get it looking neat. Made some plates from 1.2 mm Zintec and then used Tiger Seal to bond them to the bulkhead. Much better than the original foam gasket seals. Then put more brushable sealer over the top. Nasty old plate New plates on and ready for sealer Started on the nearside A-pillar. Chopped the rust ot. Treated with Hydrate 80 rust killer. Then made a repair panel from....guess what, the Gold donor car A-pillar. Was a bit more complicated than I first thought. Got there in the end and welded it in. Looks curse word, but its a decent repair. Nothing a final skin of filler wont fix. Video of all the above

Bulkhead panels came out very nice and the window pillar repair also came out very nice. No filler needed there. these repairs are time consuming and its good you have the patience to do it properly. I have used a power file a lot with bodywork on my P5B. Went threw a few Skill ones but bought a Makita which lasts a lot longer.
You deserve a decent workshop and i am pretty confident you will arange that in the future
Keep up the good work Peter

Tiger seal will be enough, seam sealer not required on those bits. You can actually use tiger seal as a seam sealer with a wet finger to smooth.

You know Jimothey just lookng at the colour it struck me you have the option to make an Irish Garda car too, up to mid-80s that was the right kind of blue.

In other news. I did a bit more welding this evening. Pretty much finished the nearside A-pillar. Finished in the dark as per usual.

You realise this would look lethally good on the drift SD1 ??

At least it doesent look like it has been messed around with too much, nothing worse than loads of previous bodges on top of the rust.

I think the problem has been from being shifted around the yard with a forklift. Floornlooks slightly distorted and I think it split the seams and then rusted. The other side of the car, the sill and floor are really good!

What's the threshold when carpark mot repairs become whoops it's on a rollover jig? Might well you ask. I don’t think I can push it that far. Shame as I hate upside down welding.
