For sale is my 1983 Porsche 944 LUX in black
Car will come with 12 months MOT
Genuine mileage with records to prove
Stored for several years from 2011, the previous owner bought it from someone who just wasn’t driving it anymore (2016). Put through an MOT at this time highlighted some issues to rectify (see DVLA records). Work carried out on the car at this point is as follows;
TerraClean fuel system flush
Fuel filter replaced
Bushes and bearings replaced
New battery
4 x tyres
New brake discs and pads
Water pump + Cam belt
Spark plugs
Coolant flush and replacement
I purchased the car in October 2017 and MOT’d in November. At this time I carried out the following:
Replaced distribution cap and HT leads for high quality German replacements.
Replace boot seal (it wasn’t in good shape)
Replaced rear wiper motor cover
Replaced boot pins and left hand lock
In the new year the head gasket failed. From here Cotswolds Porsche specialists have performed a full works on head, valves & gasket replacement.
The cause of the overheating was a faulty radiator which has also now been replaced, the car runs very well now with power fully restored. I have detailed records of all work carried out.
Shortly after the car was handed back, the mileage trip stopped working when I pressed in the stalk after filling with fuel. I have driven around thirty miles since the trip stopped working and have ODO records to hand to confirm this. To have the clock gear replaced, the clock can be sent off to a contact I have been given, for a cost of £75 incl labour.
Overall the car is in decent condition with some age related marks but no signs of rust and corrosion due to the fact the car has only ever been dry stored for over a decade.
Oil pressure, clock and voltage gauges work fine. All other electrics including heater and power roof also work. The drives well and has lots of character, with a stainless exhaust system fitted which sounds superb. I have a folder of past history for the car, including the recent extensive work carried out by CPS. Sadly for me the work carried out to sort the car has cleared me out and I am looking to sell, I have three vehicles at present and the costs of tax & insurance on top of this can’t be sustained.
Known faults / niggles
Mileage trip not working
Fuel gauge works but not accurate
Passenger door handle insert damaged
Centre console tape holder damaged (hinges broken)
Stereo not working (stopped working after work by CPS possibly fuse)
Driver’s seat stitching damage (pictured)
