Looking for some advice from you awesome people.
As some of you know I've been stripping and rebuilding my Midas for some time now and it's been a bit of a slow process because this is my first proper full rebuild and there's a lot I don't know or haven't done before. I've also had some health issues this year, moved house and have overall been rather busy so I don't get as much time as I would like to do stuff. I feel like the project is stalling.
What I would like to do is to make a list of stuff that needs doing and try to stick to it but will need to work to a small budget as I do not have much spare cash. That said, I am struggling with motivation and also constantly question my own abilities, despite getting the car into its current state pretty much by myself. And the current state is this: Fibreglass bodyshell completely stripped, repaired and repainted. Engine and gearbox rebuilt and added. New cooling system fitted, front and rear suspension fully rebuilt and fitted along with reconditioned front subframe. New steering rack fitted with new TREs and reconditioned column. Pedal box reconditioned and fitted along with new and rebuilt master cylinders. All brakes fully rebuilt but not yet filled with fluid. Fuel tank refurbished and fitted. Lights fitted (not connected). Wiring loom in but not connected.
The car is in a single garage with power. I have a fairly substantial and well-organised tool kit, but bear in mind this was a bodged kit car and my abilities don't often match my dreams. I have NO wiring experience and need to be spoon fed on electrical issues. I have a friend who is VERY knowledgeable about all things electrical but prising him away from the clutches of his wife who rules him like a dictator is difficult (managed to get him for one evening in the past year).
The jobs I have left to do are as follows:
Soundproofing
Remake carpets using old carpets as templates (have large roll of carpet to use)
Rebuild doors by fitting glass and winding mechanisms as well as trim
Make brand new dashboard using old dash as a base
Connect all wiring and make all wiring earths plus fit fusebox
Align all suspension components
Fit electric fuel pump and connect all fuel lines
Fill system with brake fluid and bleed everything
Choke, throttle and heater cables
Buy all brand new window seals (£££)
Trim entire cabin (it's small so this isn't as bad as it sounds)
Make entire exhaust system
Remake gearbox mount
Buy and Fit Battery
Refit all glass and new seals which I don't have yet
Get new sunroof seal and fit sunroof.
Fit one piece plastic headlining (only possible after sunroof is fitted)
I need some guidance and inspiration from fellow RR members.
So if this was your car and you're rebuilding it yourself and don't have that much knowledge (or don't think you do), what order would YOU do things in?
Pictures of Midas when I bought it, some during the rebuild and one in garage as it is now for motivational purposes.
