103000 km equals 64000 miles !
selling as i went out to buy a 1974 mk1 scirocco and saw this on way back
so bringing it back to uk
have paperwork to uk register it
the legal papers and logbook
purchase receipt
very good engine very clean see pics
starts first time and runs great
new timing belt at 100,000 km jan 2018
only covered 3000 kms this year
5 speed gearbox fitted with correct linkage
no crunching
4 very good std tires plenty of life
mk1 caddy servo and 22mm master cylinder
brakes really work being lhd and on the side they where designed for
new rear master cylinders
new front 12mm discs
new front pads
new water pump and thermostat
temp sits right in the middle of gauge
warms up very quick
blower motor works all 3 stages
extensive wiring repairs carried out
needed it being over 40 years old
complete lighting looms front and rear replaced
soldered and heat shrink joints or crimped and heat shrink terminals where required
side lights ,dipped beam and main beam all on independent relays
stopping the common fault of the lighting switch melting
alternator and fan loom upgraded
alternator is charging at 14.5 volts
intermittent wiper relay fitted
clocks removed and complete refurbishment of wiring and voltage regulator replaced
as printed circuit board had died causing many strange things to happen
every thing now works correctly dash lights , temp and fuel gauges
battery light,oil light high beam light ,indicator light
hazard switch wiring upgraded
glow plug light and glow temp sensor renewed
correct relay for glow plugs fitted and heavy duty fuse fitted
fog light wiring upgraded
interior light loom fitted and cree led
very solid for year floor pans sills engine bay arches fuel filler
front and rear valances, around windscreen
inner arches front and rear good
spare wheel well
clear glass all round
good condition dashboard
doors boot and petrol cap have keys
1 x chrome flag mirror lol
decent clutch not to heavy pedal and
has the factory reinforced clutch bulkhead pedal box so no clutch cable pulling through bulkhead
also the brakes really do work !!! not like a rhd
all in all a super project for either a quick fix up and enjoyment or turn into trackday or show car
not many of these left
and mk1 golfs only going to increase in price
bad points will try to be as through as poss
I'm pretty picky
not the best respray
suspension is tired nothing terrible
but could do with new bushes etc
maybe an outer cv join
needs rear gas strut for tailgate
rear parcel shelf supports need love
headlining at rear is in poor condition
front rear bumpers have damage again sign of age
generally inside is showing age
but not surprising as 40 years plus
carpets are not to bad and has boot liner etc
has all the drivers pads in good condition under pedals
seats pretty worn
will need a seatbelt locking mech
drivers door has wear in the hinge causing it to drop slightly when opening
passenger very good closes nice and firm
door cards have had holes cut for speakers
but all in all nothing crazy
can pick up parts dirt cheap on forums and ebay
nice little projects to do on the weekends
or strip it and stick a 300bhp 1.8t engine in it and go crazy
please no time wasters thats just boring
can deliver pretty much any where in uk
if south of uk say below london will drop off for free
