Another couple of hours spare and another job ticked off unfortunately no pictures because I'm pants, today I have had the interior in bits to run the wires forever an electric fuel pump, to the relay and mount it under the dash, the live feed is now in the boot ready to be plugged into the pump, i then put the interior back together, also thought of the position for the pump, I'm thinking iit's going in the boot under the false floor on the passengers side, it just seems a safer place to pop the pump rather than have it sitting under the car due to their being no decent places which aren't too close to the exhaust or the axle, I've just got to get some fuel hose, gromets and a step drill to make the holes for the hose then I can put the pump in

Nice looking repairs, should keep it solid for a long time yet, just a thought on the pump do you really want it in the passenger compartment? fumes/fire etc?

I know what your saying, It honestly looks the best place, using the right hose I shouldn't get fumes, there will literally be 6-8 inches of hose inside the car, I had a quick scout under the passengers side, and there isn't a lot of safe space to mount it underneath it's not exactly large (facet red top size) another thought I've had since posting earlier is possibly fit it in the space on the drivers side where the back box would be but I will have to have a look at available space and path for routing the pipe from the sender

A couple of hours to spare this morning and the fuel pump is now mounted, i soldered wires to the pump wiring to extend, heat shrinked and wrapped the wires, then found a suitable space to mount it under the car where it's partially covered by the fuel tank on the drivers side so it's up out of the way nice and safe, i ran the wires through the gromit for the fuel sender wiring so it's nice and neat, it was a pain to get the cordless drill in so ran a small pilot up then ran the correct size drill from inside the car to make life easier, that's as far as I got because it was blooming freezing and I had to go out

This afternoon was spent running new fuel pipes and fitting the pressure regulator, Well threads are useless without pictures, here is where I mounted the pump  It sits partially in a recess on the tank out of the way  |

Today I have painted up the replacement 2.0 servo and landrover master cylinder and got some replacement headlights as mine are looking worse for wear E30 outers with brand new inners all adjusters are free and the backing plates look decent  |

Today I have painted up the replacement 2.0 servo and landrover master cylinder and got some replacement headlights as mine are looking worse for wear E30 outers with brand new inners all adjusters are free and the backing plates look decent I did the Land Rover master cylinder, made up a little t piece. The brakes were really good after that. |

The brakes were really good after that. I've seen pics of ones that people have done and adapted the original pipes,, I'm running new solid pipes when I put it in so the t piece will be out of the way and it will look as if it was meant to be that way How's your Capri coming along? I don't really get on cp that much these days |

Don’t forget the Landy master cylinder has a bigger outlet on the front so needs a bigger brake pipe fitting than the back.
My Capri I sent to Orkney for restoration and it’s seems to have stalled. Just want it back now.

Don’t forget the Landy master cylinder has a bigger outlet on the front so needs a bigger brake pipe fitting than the back. My Capri I sent to Orkney for restoration and it’s seems to have stalled. Just want it back now. Funny you should say that I popped along with it to the old school motor factors to get the right fitting this morning before I painted it, cheers though I reckon that's caught a few people out and will no doubt carry on doing it Blimey I couldn't imagine any of my cars being that far away from me, but it is in good hands with steads at least you know the work will be top notch |

I'm going to have to reign myself in a bit, I'm modifying the engine and I havnt even got it in yet, I've just picked up a ported head with everything to build it up    New valves and guides but did come with the old valves as well  I didn't bother to take a picture of the box of valve springs, collects etc |

Well curse word me it stopped raining this afternoon, so I ran out as quick as I could before the weather had chance to change its mind, I did my best contortionist impression lying in the footwell and removed the old servo and master cylinder, fitted the replacement 2.0 servo and land rover master, found a suitable spot on the inner wing for the t piece, ran new solid pipes to the t piece and from the t piece to the drivers side flexi, replaced the flexi, the old one decided that it didn't want me to undo the locknut on the inner wing so out came the grinder, it soon gave in, i made up a new solid pipe to the caliper while i was there and that was it for today as I lost light and realised I didn't have enough brake pipe to do the long run to the passengers flexi. I'll get some pictures next time I'm out

I picked up some brake pipe and while it wasn't raining this afternoon I decided to do the drivers side pipe replacement, in typical fashion the lock nuts on the flexi fought me, one of the nuts had virtually no thread left in it so I scrabbled around in my old nuts and bolts to see if I had one, but no joy, that's when I spotted it a lonely ball joint castle nut I saved because it might come in useful, It blooming did, I cut it down to height with a 1mm cutting disk, it well and truly saved my bacon, proceeded to bleed the brakes up with the help of Mrs fp and an eezibleed, in typical fashion I finished as it was raining and light had gone, Mrs fp took a pic but I will take some more, excuse the dirt in the bay, I'm not cleaning until the engines out  After she took the pic I sorted the servo pipe etc |

bookmarked nice thread pal get some more threads going for your other projects wasn't you broken down by Alsager turn off on a500 yesterday was it in a black sapphire similar to you profile pic ?I'm rebuilding my mk2 mex at the moment youll have to have a look at my build Hi bud unfortunately that was me having a failure to proceed, the timing chain tensioner decided to fail whilst I was doing 70, I wouldn't be as peed off as I am with it if the tensioner wasn't less than 8 months old, got recovered then stripped it down It destroyed the head  How it's sat waiting for the replacement head  A great chap who i speak to from the fsoc has a reconditioned head that he's selling me to get me out of the brown stuff I'm going to get it tomorrow, I'm waiting for the head gasket to come into ford from Germany as well so fingers crossed the weekend and it will be back |

Love a Capri had mine now 31 years.Did the brakes conversion about 10 years ago nowThis is how I piped mine up.Sorry to see the Sierra broke had turbo technics one for many years.   |

Have you got a thread for your capri? I love capri's have done since I was a little lad helping my dad work on them along with cortinas, Granada etc I've had this one for 10 years I fitted my t piece down on the inner wing on the bulge with hole in the middle, it just needed enlarging slightly for the correct size bolt As with the sierra it really annoyed me as the tensioner was no older than 8 months old when I replaced the lifters, but I suppose you can't help these things, I have picked up a reconditioned head today from a fantastic guy on the fsoc  |
