SOLD
1977 Triumph Dolomite 1850HL Automatic
MOT and tax exempt.
45k miles with service history
The car was imported from the Isle on Mann in 2012 which explains the very low mileage.
The car has just been serviced with new oil, filters, HT leads, rotor arm, cap, plugs etc. A new battery has also been fitted.
The car hasn’t been used on the road for a few years but starts drives and stops just fine. All the electrics seem good so it isn’t going to take much to get back on the road, especially with the car being MOT exempt. I would love to get the car finished but have gone self-employed, lost my dry storage and no longer have enough spare time.
The shell very straight, solid and rust free, thanks to being Zebarted from new and spending most of its life garaged. The interior is also very clean original. I resprayed the car a few years ago which is more than passable but could do with some work to make perfect. There are a few runs and blemishes but it polishes up nicely. I have 5 matched rattle cans and about 1 lite of cellulose paint left over from the respray so future rework won’t be a problem.
The previous owner had fitted a strong 2 litre TR7 engine on HS6 carbs which is an excellent match for the auto box and runs very well. Electronic ignition has been fitted along with a recent new starter motor. The engine breathes through a sprint air box and stainless steel Rimmer Bros exhaust. The rear suspension and axle have been rebuilt with new brakes, lines and bushes.
Minilite replica wheels with Yokohama tyres have been fitted which are a nice alternative to the normal Sprint alloys and are rare with the correct PCD and offset.
An enormous collection of spares included. The buyer is welcome to take as many or as little of the spares as they like. Parts include interior and exterior trim, cylinder head, torque converter, electrical parts, brakes, hubs, suspension, head linings etc.
It must be noted that about 5 years ago the car did suffer from a fire which damaged the rear paintwork but was put out before any lasting damage was done. The rear of the car was fully rebuilt with no expense spared with a new tank, boot lid, rewire etc and is documented fully on retro rides.
Please also not that there are a few bits of brightwork/trim not currently fitted but they are included and will be fitted if I get time.
Any questions please ask. Viewing weekends and evenings near Emsworth, Hampshire.
