Excellent news on the MOT and the confidence boost for the repairs, I hope that you enjoy many miles of fun over the festive period. But I have to pull you up on the size issue, it might be bigger than a Toyota Corolla..............! But............. If you look behind Blue Boy, there is a Japanese pick up of some sort!

Good news on the mot Rian Watching this as usual with your threads Loving it all mate Thanks Dan, Like your cars and threads, I guess we all get a kick out of each other’s successes. Good news on the mot Rian Watching this as usual with your threads Loving it all mate feeling lazy, so just what 'e said. Thanks George, still beats the lazy Like button. I think your truck is more Battlestar than jet fighter. And regarding the repairs, they were needed, and have transformed the truck into a pleasurable creature. Sweeeeeeeet!!! Top work on the MOT!!! That's an early Christmas present for sure. Absolutely agree, I am really pleased that the MOT is now done, kind of draws a line under themthings that needed to be done to make it a safe and pleasant retro to drive. well deserved that man... WELL DONE . Thank you Robert, I am sure you, having built and continuing to fight the good fight with Medusa, know it’s more work than meets the eye. So I am pretty chuffed. . Congratulations ! ... you should get " Nope, not a project" made up as a (smallish) sticker for the back window !! 😎 It’s an idea, but I am trying not to turn it into a project 😉 congratulations on the mot Thank you for the posting. Welcome to the forum too. can you change the thread title to "grizz's "not a project" blazer"...purely to avoid confusion for those poor soul who are hard of thinking? Aaahhh yes, there is that. Irony and all that.

Merry Christmas and an awesome Festive Season to all of you. Spent this morning, day three of my leave, doing admin and online training.... yup, that’s my life. Then wanted to paint the Stormtrooper I had bought from Darren a few weeks ago white, the new can I bought on Tuesday failed. Had a shower, shaved and came down to find it had leaked on the counter top. Hopped into Prozac and headed to,the village, got my money back and bought better primer and paint from another shop. Then had a late lunch sandwich while the wind blew a gale outside. After which I went out and flatted the sides with a 360 grit fabric disc. Followed by a wipe down, then masked up all the bits that did not need paint on them. A coat of primer, followed by a coat of gloss white. This was in order to create a decent base for the vinyl to be applied to. And eventually unmasked, the other side was finished by 4pm just when it got dark, pleased there was no rain today, just cold and wind. I suspect that the go faster stripes will be applied with the help of a heat gun. Hope the weathers kind tomorrow morning.

Excellent result with the MOT squire! Also hoping for some decent weather to get jobs done with a long list of enjoyable spannering planned! Thank you very much mate. I guess the MOT was pretty assured, as I had really addressed everything that I could imagine, and some bits not needed. I needed to be sorted, halfarsed just means having to do it again. a couple of hour , rattle can , driveway respray , IN DECEMBER! now that's commitment to a non project vehicle. :-) Because it’s not a Project you can do all sorts of crazy stuff to it and still not get mocked. Delighted for you buddy!! Trust me, so was I. It’s never guaranteed, so until the certificate hits the passenger seat, it ain’t over.

Fighting talk....... I really don’t care about who does not like today’s progress. I like it, may even love it (not really) but anyone wanting to change it, the Blazer if for sale and you can then change to your hearts content. Another rubbish night last night, seems to be a pattern, leaving me tired. So I did clean the house, then ironed 20 work shirts etc before getting out to start with the truck. The temperature must have been above 10’C most of the day. Started out with a thin red pinstripe along the sewage line. This would allow me to use it to get the rest of the Go Faster Stripes spot on and straight. Getting the curve into the leading edge, and also the keyhole right was important, as the whole thing needs to look just right in the end. Bottom line completed, one side. Rear view. Then the yellow stripe below the orange. I would prefer the yellow a bit darker, but this was what was available. Chrome trims fitted for the pics, but I need to prep the rims and then add in two layers of Duck Tape for the clips to kick against of bit into. You can see where the clips scrape and try to grip when removed, so the Duck tape gives it something to kick into and hopefully they will stay in place. And finally, photos of the job completed. And side view. I am really pleased with how this all, came out, certainly pleases me. May just go for a decent drive tomorrow too, to celebrate. It’s been a good, if busy week.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely love what it does to the look of it. You've taken the time to do it well as well so fits really nicely. Especially that front curved section, really nice touch.
Breaks up the slab sides beautifully.
WINNING!

Got to admit, I was in two minds over the mock-ups but that's turned out really well. Nice one!

Looks Ace Grizz. Lovely bit of detail with the curves and an altogether Summery/Fun look.
Can’t have been that pleasant working outside this time of year.
Just need a surfboard on the yet to be sourced roof rack to complete the “schools out for summer!” look.
Health to Drive, Sir!

Turned out really nice. I could well see it going around the corner and over the rear lid, too. But now you cut it round in the rear already and surely don´t want to do that part again. So this is cool as it is, and after all it´s your no-ject! Regarding the trim: how about some powerful neodym magnets between trim and wheel lips to secure them?
