I’ve got a Cosworth v6 that I plan to turbo,
I need some help choosing the right turbo.
What’s the benefits of twin turbo over single ?
Which is better?
Space in the engine bay makes a single turbo the easiest option
What turbo would be best for both applications?
(I’m talking cheap, possibly used turbos)

You'll have to mention your power goal to help size a turbo.
I think modern turbos have overcome the problem of being big enough to feed a 6 cyl vs spooling early enough to be drivable so a single turbo I suspect would be the way forward.

I’m going to keep keep stock internals and low boost I guess
These engines were 195hp new (won’t be that now)
Would 320 be out of the question with what I’ve said
........how do you even know what power to aim for?

Apparently 2x t25 give around 400bhp according to top boss with aftermarket ecu and mapping
With twin smaller turbo you can use smaller turbos which will spool quicker so power lower down which will suit the lazy v6

Cool 😎
So far I’ve had suggestions for both
2 x t25 Or
1x Holset hx35
Single is still looking like the cheaper option 👍👌

I run a pair of those t o4e on my Lexus v8 , doesn’t do a lot below 2800 rpm . The smaller k26 I had before were much better giving instant response from 2300rpm . If you can get them in twins will be much punchier for a road car .

9.7-1 compression you don’t want to be running a lot of boost and parts aren’t exactly cheap for these . 3076 running 7lb should get you around 300hp and if you give yourself some room around the turbo you can always go up to a 12cm hx35 if it doesn’t burst . .89 turbine 3076 would be better for the v6

I just done a turbo calculator Hers results for single turbo Twin turbo (I take it this means per turbo) So going by the single turbo results, I needs a turbo that’ll deliver 32lb/min........so I only need a td05 size turbo ??

If it’s in a Granada the old t25 from the Saab will be a good choice as they have actuators that start at 5psi

Personally, I'd get signed up on fordpower.org.uk and have a look on there. Several people there have turbod the BOA lump with success on standard internals with a few choice mods. If you can, get the Boost performance inlet manifold or make up a similar equivalent as the standard one isn't exactly free flowing

Unless your building a car for competiton the best thing is to fit one turbo, go a bit bigger than too small, do your home work & get the pipe work correct, ignition , A/F and you will have a lot of latitude. If you don't want to use an intercooler, shoot water into the turbo inlet, use a sealed container with a mix of water & screen wash ( The one with alcohol in it),check the net for details. What fuel system are you using, fuel injection?
