Hi , I'm looking for a solution for a sliding joint fitting suitable for a steering shaft. I would like to fit a power steer rack and bolt it to the existing axle beam and need a sliding joint that will allow for suspension movement This picture demonstrate the principle involved but have never come across the style of joint required , any ideas please?

You will need a similar set up to whats used for propshafts. Sliding spline joint with a UJ at the bulkhead end. Is there anything off a old rwd car or a quad bike that could be used ?

Suzuki Vitaras have a sliding section joint in the steering column. It's the piece of column that comes off the steering box.

I started thinking about driveshafts that used UJ's and a sliding joint but they are too big really. I've got Datsun driveshafts on my big Triumph. The sliding section needs to be sealed really otherwise it will get a bit sloppy after a while. Those look just the job.
