EXTERIOR
This very rare LE MGF 75th Anniversary, number 514, is finished in stunning Mulberry Red, (Code CDM), one of just two colours available for the UK market. The deep gloss shine looks fabulous and the contrasting black hood is immaculate including the clear rear screen. The optional colour coded hardtop with Grenadine headlining costing £1,500 when new is included although it does have one very minor mark from long-term storage and the faintest of stone chips to the bonnet have been touched in. All trim and badging are in excellent condition including the unique bodyside 75th Anniversary badging, and the supplying dealer number plates remain fitted. The bright stainless air intakes, dual front bright stainless grilles and chrome door handles were all standard fitment to this Limited Edition model. A truly pampered car and a modern classic in the making.
INTERIOR
Truly spectacular and beautifully preserved. The interior is trimmed in Grenadine Red leather, (Code CVC), which is applied to the seats, door casings, handbrake and gear lever gaiter and duotone steering wheel. With such few miles covered all are in excellent condition. The unique luxury carpet mats with Grenadine Red piping are fitted and very clean and purists will note all correct 75th Anniversary Edition features are present making this a very unique virtually bespoke interior. All gauges, switches and controls function including the MG single disc CD player. Deservedly special.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The four cylinder 1796cc engine produces 120bhp at 5500rpm and 165Nm torque at 3000rpm enabling a top speed of 120mph and 0-60 in just 8.5 seconds. The mid-mounted engine and rear wheel drive configuration processes all the correct sports car credentials to ensure optimum driver delight. Regular servicing and a recent cam belt and water pump help ensure optimum running. The short throw sports ratio five speed gearbox completes the package.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Unique LE 16” multi-spoke alloy wheels have a few barely visible markings and are shod in brand new Uniroyal Rainsport tyres of size 215/40 ZR16 as recommended by the MG owners club. The spare wheel remains unused. Ventilated front discs and solid rear discs offer positive stopping power.
HISTORY FILE
Only 2,000 MG 75th Limited Editions were made for the global market of which the UK market was allocated just 500, this UK example being number 514. This example was registered on the 3rd July 1999 and supplied by MG Main Dealers G.Kingsbury & Son Ltd in Hampton and has only had three former keepers. Pampered by all and despite the low mileage the car returned to the same MG Main Dealer 11 times for service work. A recent cam-belt and water pump was carried out in October 2016 at 25,156 miles. The original handbooks, service book and instruction pamphlets are contained in the clear MG wallet along with two sets of keys and a sales brochure. An unspoiled and prized MGF, wanting for nothing and ready for immediate enjoyment.
MOT Oct 2019, HPI Clear.
