The time has come to sell my 1994 Renault Safrane. It is a very reliable work horse, drives great and will take you anywhere in the country. Very usable classic with a few very minor issues. Very low miles @ 53k, apparently TV featured in an episode of Lovejoy back in the day.. MOT until November 18. Minor issues (bearing in mind it is a very cheap car!): Rear exhaust needs replacing soon as is starting to knock a little. Heater only works full blast, other settings intermittently. There are heated seats that work perfectly though for the colder months ahead! Drivers door lock only works intermittently. Few small dents and scratches. Otherwise this is a great car that has years left in it with such low miles and having been regularly serviced, is ridiculously comfortable and gets some amount of attention / comments often due to its rarity. All wheel arches and underside are clean with no rot, not bad for a 24 year old car! Electric windows, heated rear window, mirrors + seats all work perfectly Had a new clutch replaced a couple of years ago, two new front tyres and rear brakes done for last MOT. It has electric mirrors, heated seats, all leather interior, immobiliser as standard, height adjustable steering wheel and a talking computer that tells you off if you've left you're lights on or boot open etc. If that's your thing.. Collection only in Edinburgh. No swaps. Please no time wasters or tyre kickers. If you agree to buy the car, collection must be made within 5 days and a deposit left. Had experience of too many time wasters in the past. SOLD

So it was, can't make out who is in it though. Always liked these things, wonder if I can break the wife's car enough to justify another...

That's great. Surely under-valued?
Any interior pics?

That's great. Surely under-valued? Any interior pics? Couple of interior pics. Unervalued? Possibly but i've never seen Safranes sell for big money so wanted to be realistic and there are a couple of dents on the bodywork too. Even though this one is almost certainty the lowest miles example in the country! It will also drive you anywhere in the country without fail, very reliable.

Looks like a super comfy place to be. They are. I test drove a new one years ago before choosing a Saab 9000. This is a fabulous thing.

I love that - really want it, but currently have no way of getting up to Edinburgh to collect it.
The French really did know how to make big comfy barges back in the 80s / 90s.
GLWS.

Train, coach, hitch up,,,,,, drive back... 👍 That's it, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Last year, I bought and drove back an old 80's banger from Liverpool with a failed water pump. It was around 2 and half hour journey home in normal circumstances. But I had to stop over 20 times to top car up with water and then splash some over the engine to keep it cool. Not to mention having to drive the whole way at 40-50mph! I knew what was involved and bought a couple gallon of water with me.. Even then, i ran out of water and had to find services real quick before my engine exploded into a ball of flames. Found them, quick pee and tea and then back on road. Took me almost 6 hours in total to get home. The car only cost £150. New water pump was £20. Not missed a single beat until just yesterday...starter motor is on it's way out haha...but she done extremely well this year considering the banger treatment it has had! Now I look back and laugh at what I went through but at the same time believe it was the best decision ever. Lovely Reno btw looks very luxurious, GLWS !

I should have stated I meant I don't currently have the time to travel up to collect. I've no doubt it will get me back and I also picked up an old W123 Mercedes from Edinburgh last year, which was an interesting drive back! Usually I travel all over the UK for cars - as these sort of motors don't come up for sale locally that often!

If you buy it, I could maybe go up to Edinburgh next week and bring it down to mine if it helped. That would half the distance. I'd keep it on my drive until you could get up to mine on Teesside. Hope that helps.

But currently too much tied up in other cars and the wife would go mad if I did a mission up north and drove back in yet another car! Thank you for the offer - really appreciate it and it shows the kind nature of the good people on this RR forum.

What he said ^^ I want a road trip to get this, even if I'm not actually buying it. Seriously wondering if I have the space/funds to push to it myself.
