I'm trying to work out whats the best look for mounting my rev counter. Options being mount within the dash, mounting on top of the dash or steering column?
I'll open to the floor for advice and suggestions.
Many thanks

Depends on the use of the car, the car type itself and your own personal preference. My friend and I made a dashboard for my Mini about 20 years ago and mounted the rev counter in a pod on top of the dash. It was fantastic having it in the line of sight when driving, but it was only a 2" gauge.

It's for a mk2 Cortina....I'm unsure whether to stick a GT dashtop on it, or the other ideas just foe something different...

The Gt & 1600E dash always looked good to me.

Series 1 GT dash is my favourite old dash. I am quite biased on that point though. On my mk1 Escort I have a bolt on rev counter up on the windscreen pillar as I'm to tight to buy a 6 clock dash. It doesn't work though 😁. You could put one in the air vent if you don't mind loosing the vent.
