The car has been dry stored in my garage whilst in my ownership awaiting restoration, which sadly has not happened as I am still unexpectedly still building my house, three years on.... As a project, It represents a good opportunity for a relatively light restoration due to bodywork and paint being in reasonably good condition. There is no interior, as you can see.
Mechanically, it is all there, I have had the engine running when I first received the car, but did run quite rough, possibly due to the length of time it has previously sat idle, most probably the carbs needing a rebuild.
Body & chassis is in reasonable condition, there is evidence of a previous owner having made repairs where good welding and sealant/paint has been made.
There are a few notable areas where work needs to be made, namely:
Drivers-side floor requires repair in foot-well, a new floor panel would be the correct repair to make.
Rust patch around windscreen under A-pillar/scuttle panel. Window-out repair, but not difficult.
Both doors need bottom skin repairs as they are rusted through the skins.
Other age related blemishes & general stuff expected for a car needing some restoration & re-commissioning.
Red paintwork is not original. I'd estimate the car was DIY “freshened up”, probably sometime in the 90’s. It's ok, but personally I'd want to give the paint another go if I was keeping it.
Electric windows function & runners are sound
Comes with original wheels. The pictures shown of the aftermarket alloys are for illustration only, they will not be supplied with the car, but, are available in a separate auction.
I also have a full set of GAZ gold-series adjustable shock-absorbers with Eibach springs (box-fresh, never fitted). These are not part of the sale, but could be made also available.
