I'm selling this presentable 80's 924 Automatic.
In my opinion it would make someone a nice practical classic and may well prove a shrewd investment as the 924 has recently been tipped by journalists, including Quentin Wilson, as a smart buy.
Even the Urban Outlaw himself, Magnus Walker, has bought himself three 924s albeit the Turbo and Carrera GT models.
This example is finished in the special order colour LY5V Sapphire metallic with black pinstripe interior.
The paint is in fair condition and polishes up OK but does have numerous marks commensurate with the age of the vehicle. The seats are showing their age, and the vinyl has split, the velour pinstripe material is, in my opinion, very good so it should not be too much trouble to have the damaged vinyl sections replaced.
Miraculously, the dash is virtually un-cracked!(two tiny splits by the vents) If you've looked at a few 924s you'll know this is pretty rare, hence the dash alone is probably worth £500+.
It is fitted with the desirable Turbo style lattice alloys, all in good condition with tyres that have covered approximately 1000 miles.
As stated it's an Automatic which may put a lot of people off but it does make for a relaxed daily driver.
Mechanically the car is up and running but in my opinion could do with fettling. It was last serviced professionally on 16/05/2018 and last year had injectors and new fuel pump solenoid.
It starts on the button but the idle is a little lumpy, could probably do with a tune up or may be through lack of use.
Most of the instruments work although I did notice on the short drive I took it on today that the temperature gauge didn't seem to move much if at all so this may need looking at.
I'm selling it as a rolling restoration project so hopefully the new owner will be happy to tinker with it and improve it over time.
Obviously due to it's age it qualifies for incredibly cheap Classic insurance (I currently pay £78!) and will be tax exempt in five years if current laws continue to apply.
Dateless registration is to stay on the vehicle and is transferable as far as I know.
Viewing is recommended and professional inspection welcome. I'm happy to help arrange transport through somewhere like Shipley if needed.
Private sale, no warranty implied or given but I have tried to give an honest appraisal.
Due to timewasters, I will not accept an offer unless you back it up with some sort of message. Also, once purchased I expect it to be paid for and collected within a reasonable timescale, to be mutually agreed.
Any questions, please get in touch.
