Hello all,
I'm a long time reader of this forum and I enjoy all your projects and the do-it-yourself mentality, some of you have a different taste then me( . But the knowledge and the crazy projects are very entertaining.
My carpark at the moment and in order of buying: Land Rover Series II BMW 118d (I needed a daily)
Fiat 850 special Austin Seven Ulster
You see I'm going in the wrong direction 2250cc >> 2000cc >> 850cc >> 750cc But the average age of my carpark is 50 years old, almost double my age. I don't have topics about the others because there not modified or restored and maintenance is boring.
I have just bough an Austin Seven or more correctly a collection of Austin Seven parts . The setup to get the car, a 1000 km round trip.
The seller had an other Ulster, and we got a ride in it. 20180824_145839_2
Then there is mine
Loaded up in the trailer.
The parts
We wanted an old English name and my girlfriend loves the Jane Austin books. So ... Welcome to the family Jane.
Jane has a 1936 chassis and the body work is fiberglass but for the short chassis. Is mostly complete, but its going to be a long road ahead. I have still a lot to learn, so expect a lot of questions from me. The next things are: - Tires - Radiator - Getting the engine running - And getting the body fit the chassis or the other way around.

I really don't know much about cars from this era, but this looks really cool, like a little race car. I imagine it's a really experience to drive!
Looking forward to see the progress and to learning more about it.

I've always loved the little Ulster and look forward to seeing how your thread unfolds. A very practical car for historic racing.
Love the Landy too!

Love it. Nice Landie as well. 7 Ulsters are fantastic machines. When you get it finished if you get the chance you should bring it over to N Ireland and have a drive around the old Ards TT circuit which the Ulsters were named from. The roads used are still mostly in place and can be driven on at any time. Good luck with the rebuild.

what a car! now you don't see one of them every day! proberbly your best bet is to alter the chassis to suit the body? going to be a nice car, and i love the carport/ shelter construction!

If you get stuck for parts it's probably worth trawling back through old posts on here, I think one of the members with a 7 was trying to offload a shed full of parts.

So where are you? Belgium? The Netherlands? I see you went to France to get your 7. I sold one of mine and it went to France... It looks like this now:

I'm from Belgium. That's definitely an other one, he had 3 other Austin sevens but none like yours.

Removed the body from the chassis, I wanted it put away without using floor space. But my first idea was not doable. 20180913_105531Then with wheels, in the way of the Fiat. 20180914_170412

Great little motor and going slow is the new going fast - you will have lots of fun in this once you have it built

A screw of the gearbox cover was broken off, in the bottom left corner. 20180920_16033020180920_160327Drilled out and noticed that I didn't have the left taps. So with a little persuasion, a hammer and wood screw. It came out. 20180920_164448. I'm thinking about buying a set of BSF bolt set that I have some spares in every size, because there aren't any in the hardware shop. Any advice? the Ebay ones are expensive. Is it also normal that my inch set doesn't fit the heads? Is there another inch set for older cars?
