I'm restoring a mini, i plan in the end to sand all teh paint down as much as i can and 2k epoxy prime it, then paint it. Now, when I'm welding bits on it now, i need to prime it, looking at either etch or rust-olium galv spray.
Rust-olium is best for me as i can get it threw work, but i don't know how 2k epoxy will like that, or should i buy etch primer instead?
Also, for protection between panels when i weld them, is the rust-olium good?
thanks

all the weld thru rust primers ive seen have done very , ive worked in bodyshops and had the cars we repaired crashed again so get to see the seams again
id suggest you do use some on the seams/flanges , but thinners if off anywhere you can get to so the epoxy goes on bare steel , id also thin a bit down and see if can sqaush a bit into any gaps when possible , then seam sealer them or drown in cavity wax
its not useless , but not far from it
