This is a very slow burn build due to current space constraints. I'll only be posting up when I have pics to show. The aim is to achieve something like this:- First up I need to split down the front axle as its going off for the spindles to be checked and if OK having new brass bushes reamed in along with new wheel bearings to allow the hubs to be fitted on. Front beam axle: Brasss bushes have some play: Thought it would be ideal to rig up an electrolysis bath using a car battery and a smart charger. This is after a few minutes. See what its like tomorrow.

Me too. Liking the look of this. Although, perhaps not the play in the brass bushes...

Slight difference there. Can I ask about your electrolysis set-up. Mine is s l o w I try and use vinegar nowadays to get shot of rust.

Do you start with warm water and let it be or do you use an element to keep temps up or?? Apologies if I'm wrecking your thread, but you got overnight results that I need days to achieve.

Gotta make sure the electrolyte strength is right (about a big tablespoon of soda per litre) and the dumb charger needs to supply at least 5amps. Anode needs to be clean plain steel.Warm water helps but not essential.
I'm only using a battery as I have a smart charger.

Managed to split the steering arm off the spindle. 80years seemed to have welded it together. Back in the bath to clean off the last bit of rust.
