Not a huge amount to report other than it seems the gearbox is a new level of knackered now... Seems to go from drive to neutral when you let off the throttle and then roll back in to the throttle, seems like a line pressure issue so may just go back to basics check all the easy stuff and then if needs be, think about stripping it down. Was just hoping to get a few more road trips out of it this year before I take it off the road... In other news, we made it to the village duck race which also had a little classic car show and dog show... The little champ only came away with 2nd place in the golden oldies category haha he looked proud us punch with his little rosette! The car got us there and back but not in the most elegant way haha I'm going to have a light tinker and try and make it to the end of the summer before she comes apart... time to invest in a gearbox jack for the workshop.

if the "PRNDL" is cable operated, is there a possibility of engine gearbox twistage (on and off throttle) nudging it in and out of drive ?

Very interesting thought, it is a rod setup which feels good at the column end but could well be a little loose as it heads towards the gearbox! It has new engine mounts and gearbox mounts, but certainly worth a look to make sure it is aligned happily. I'll throw it up on the ramp and take a look, thanks!

Hey Ralph, I'll be honest, didn't had time to read everything, but you are quite right, there's a lot of these in Brazil, in fact my uncle is finishing one now, also red, but with a 2.3L engine: http://instagr.am/p/Ce9IUgkOv_G So, if you need any help let me know Cheers.

So I have come to the conclusion after doing lots and lots of reading that I would simply prefer someone else to build my gearbox and take the stress away from me likely cocking it up a few times before I get it right haha I was super keen to give it a go and learn, but I would love to just jump in and cruise right now! That being said, as the Mav is out of action currently, I thought it would make sense to get hold of something as a bit of a light project to tidy up, cruise about in and then move on after I have had some fun with it... Enter, this cream puff 1969 F100. It is an absolute delight to drive, 360FE motor and C6 box, power steering, disc brakes up front. Little 2 barrel on there and she just purs! It leaks oil out of everywhere possible, so the plan is to fit all new seals/gaskets front to back on the running gear, tidy up some cosmetics and just enjoy it. It became immediately evident that I need some more drip trays for my ramp though... It is super nice driving a V8 with a proper V8 rumble. Hopefully once the gearbox on the Mav is sorted that will be the jump in and enjoy motor and the truck can start getting some love! Can't have them both in pieces at the same time though haha

Cheers chaps! She is a cracking bit of kit, will be hard to move it on once I have had some fun with it, but haven't got the storage to keep them all! Would love to end up with a 56 F100 eventually... We shall see how that plan works out though as the prices on them are INSANE now. braithwaite it does good burnouts, but it is a peg leg so not all that impressive, this one won't be getting a diff it'll stay a nice cruiser truck

A little progress... 1 x empty hole 1 x absolutely disgusting gearbox ready for a rebuild. This picture is AFTER a serious amount of scrubbing and washing too. All being well, it should be back in the car by the end of September!

Would need some more motor for that! When the 302 gets built up, I will stick a manual behind it

Well the gearbox is back in the car, road tested and she drives like an absolute dream now! A minor leak to resolve from the gearbox dipstick tube, even after replacing the O-Ring it is still junk, so need to get more creative there. Also seems to have developed a leak from the thermostat housing, so that will need addressing at some point too, hopefully I will have another go at sealing the dipstick tube Saturday morning and then get out for some driving! Other than that, the rear suspension has been raised slightly (not sure if I mentioned before) so it sites quite nicely now. Still lots of bits to chip away at, but if I can sort these two leaks out I will be very happy for the time being! Wheels, bodywork and interior are all on the list... I suspect the rear end will need sorting at some point too... The rolling restoration continues!

What I need in my life is more distractions... So, another one has turned up. Welcome my new 'modern classic' to the collection. Everyone needs a shop truck right? How else was I meant to get the Maverick interior to the trimmers when the time comes? The 69 F100? Na that is going under the knife soon. My toys means more problems, but i'll spend some seat time in the F150 before figuring out what those niggles will be though! I'll sprinkle some updates in here on it from time to time, but it's not meant to be a project this one...

I love our dog more too haha Ahh that's so awesome, what is amazing is as I type this, Ty is lying on the sofa next to me almost exactly like that! Everyone thinks Ty is just a massive Staffy, as he has that proper teddy bear look to him, he's an American Bulldog/Cane Corso cross. Such a big softy. Yours looks mega! Love the brindle markings. #BrindleBros
