Only one car per decade allowed, for each car state why it's your favourite. You don't have to have owned any of them. My 1970s one is the Ford Escort mk1. My Dad had one from 1978 to around 1986. I was three years old when he bought it hence I got used to the sound and smell of the engine, the water and oil leaks and the rust! I've had five myself over the years, I still have this one:- From the 1980s, I have to choose the E30 BMW. Once again my Dad bought a 320i for a short while. I had just passed my test and got to drive it a few times. I recall the engine being really smooth and it was very comfortable. A huge leap over the Vauxhalls and Fords that he had owned before. I got a 320i myself several years later for under a grand and sold it for £450. Around ten years ago I had a 325i convertible for a while. I'd like a 325i like this:- My 90s choice of favourite car is the Ford Escort Cosworth. I've never had one and probably will never now that the prices have gone crazy. After the disappointment of the front wheel drive mk3 onwards the Cossie was a return to form for the 'humble' Escort. I know if I drive one I'd probably be disappointed but it still is my favourite 90s car!

1970's Jaguar 420g. Its massive, luxury, looks mean and has 285 bhp!!! 1980's has to Rover SD1 Twin Plenum Vitesse. Gorgeous. Rear wheel drive, 190 to 220 bhp, wood trim, comfy sport arm chairs, V8 and rear wheel drive hooligan car. 1990' Lotus Carlton. 185 mph, the car they tried to bad. The peak of automotive engineering before they became safe, lame and operated by computers.

THE gti... imo the "best" car ever , just look better and better the older they get , and a blast to drive too. 22b , the ultimate classic impreza....nuff said! mind you i could probably post a different choice every day for a year without repetition.

These questions are not great for me! I often act as if they are my only choices! But I shall attempt to step away from this. I also go through phases of liking different cars For me I've actually been looking through lists! I forgot about some of the cars I liked/loved too! But after much deliberation here is the list! -Lamborghini Espada -Lister XJS Le Mans 7.0 -TWR XJ220 S What else did I consider putting in? Yes, I really did forget about some of these cars! I've left these in as inspiration for others; Yup, I really did forget about the XJ220S and the Daytona! 70s;Miura/Toyota 2000GT/Ferrari Daytona 80s:RS500 Cosworth 90s:F40 It's made me realise something 1) I am very indecisive! 2) I always lament the loss of some of cars I have sold! But in reality I'm pleased I got the chance to own them and (without sounding too charitable!) have been lucky enough to run them too!

Each car I remember the first time I saw one and it made me stop look and admire and gave me unfulfilled desire to own one. First up representing the 1970’s, the Aston Martin V8. The first I saw one was in the late 1970’s on a dealer forecourt in Mildenhall near the USAF base. I’m sure there was also Volvo P1800 and another Aston, DB6 I think. We were there to pick up my Dads new car, an N reg XJ6 in lavender blue. (KAG884N if memory serves me right). Anyway I was disappointed to being going home in the jag. 1980’s first saw this car actual car in 1988, we then followed it around Brands Hatch, the sound and poise around the circuit just had me transfixed. My final offering for the 1990’s, a dull morning in Hammersmith as I walked to work at Charing Cross Hospital maybe 1991/2. A bright red Alfa made the rest of the traffic look black and white. Still my ultimate car.

1970s, because my dad is a ford man and had a crusader just like this through most of my impressionable years. 80s, well its relevant to my insterests, and its white! you cant get more 80s than a white hot hatch 1990s, as i'm the playstation generation, and the 1990s were all about turbo 4x4 J cars, be that the forest stages or on the streets. one of the favourites the lancer evo1

Only just get in, made until '71. Dad owned one at the time I was born, ive driven one since then and they are a hoot to drive, but id put it as my favourive based on looks alone. Wolseley 16/60. Infact any farina, I would have said Wolseley 6/110, but they stopped production in 1968. I remember seeing one of these as a kid in the '80's. I knew what a metro was, so seeing these was a bit of a shock, I couldnt quite understand what I was looking at. MG Metro 6R4. I owned one of these for a while. The fact that they were still being made in the 90s is a big reason why its my favourite. Fully agricultural, but quite light to drive at the same time. started in all weathers, went almost anywhere. The one I should have kept. Lada Riva.

I'm going to go down a different route on this There are so many cars of this period I like for different reasons I'm not going to go with any of the poster super cars More of the run of the mill car that made a statement in there class 70s to much choice My dad had one my mates dad had one the rover p6 V8 Unique styling V8 engine what's not to like "and I've wanted one for ever" 80s Again some much choice but I think this is the decade when the Germans were king at making the best of everything whether it's cars or washing machines I had one of these and I'd have another tomorrow if I could the BMW 750i This is the alpina version so definitely the one to have 90s For me the 90s was the best decade for cars Technology was at its peak so cars become reliable and useable You could buy a 90s car tomorrow and use it everyday without a problem because progress in car manufacturing since then has only changed for the better in safety and emissions Build quality from the late 90s on is poor because that's when manufacturing became a cost saving exercise This is my own car and it's probably the best package you can get in a car performance style comfort This car would do everything the lotus Carlton could do but without breaking down and being the last batch of the E34 M5 it was a very limited numbers build The BMW E34 3.8 6 speed M5 But if we're taking about a car that was underrated then it would have to be this The 1990 Cavalier GSI my dad had one as a company car when it first come out he liked it so much he kept it as his company car for 11 years he lost his license twice with it and once took my brother and his mate from Hertfordshire to Newquay in 3 hours with the trip computer saying the average speed was over 100 mph it regularly hit 150mph in its life which was good for a rep mobile and people are still using the red top motor in car builds to this day

I decided not to go the Jensen, Firebird, umm, other exotica route with my choices. My choices are based on what I have actually owned and compared to the opposition which I also either owned or drove. Firstly, the 70s The Cortina MK3 2000E Easily the best Cortina Ford ever built. Comfortable above and beyond a Ford ( even as good as The Granada Ghia which I also owned) a creamy, screamy Pinto that you could thrash and thrash, handling that wallowed but never ever let you feel you was never in control and a suspension that swallowed potholes in one in a way that you always assumed was the remit of Citroens. My one was a dog eared £125 job back in 1985. Was still brilliant dog eared. The 80s A humble 1983 Astra 5 door estate in white, a 1300s, no less. An absolute hoot to drive, the engine was just fantastic. I used to see 115MPH on the speedo, yep, innacurate for sure but it screamed along giving its all. Handling was a joy, predictable and controllable. I used to scare the Essex brigade in their XR3(i)s, the 1300 packed a punch and handled just as well. It was comfortable too. I'm sure there was better out there, competition wise, but I never drove it. The 90s Rover 416GSi. My 2000E of the 90s. What an engine! Not even the twin cam but she used to absolutely fly! The build quality was stonking, real quality, sort of Japanese build quality and UK materials and attention to detail quality, like the good old days, if there was a good old days. A genuine wolf in sheeps clothing this one. I owned better looking cars, faster cars, more luxurious cars and the like but the three mentioned stand out to me as cars that are now 'Retro' that I would have no worries owning again. Out of the three? The Cortina but the Astra runs it close. A GM product that the others had to up their game to match and better. The MK2 Cavaliers of that era were ace too, I nearly went for my old 2.0 CDi 12v saloon, maybe the best car I ever had.
