Not giveng up with the LS engine …..once I’ve put it back together, I’m gonna stick with the manual setup Been looking at a cheaper option than the tremec So seen the ar5 , which can handle 800hp apparently , and the ar5 kit from fabbot www.fabbotfab.com/products/fabbot-ar5-to-ls-nexgen-adapter-bundle?_pos=3&_sid=0845f06b0&_ss=rThe ar5 is readily available in the U.S in 2wd The only ar5 boxes we get were in 4wd , From the Suzuki grand vitara, or izuzu trooper I’m going for the vitara, as it has the hydraulic clutch, and front plate , which is needed for the fabbot kit 2wd ar5 from the states Vitara 4wd. £170 The only thing I’d have to do is make a plate for to hold a roller bearing for the rear of the box where the transfer box used to be Similar to this, but different as the vitara rear flange isn’t the same www.fabbotfab.com/products/ar5-4wd-2wd-conversion?_pos=21&_sid=0845f06b0&_ss=rBeen thinking about what next to do once I’ve rebuilt the LS Fancy supercharger this time, so been looking at the jaguar/Range Rover supercharger and charge cooler combo It’s a Eaton tvs r1900 charger, and come up quite cheap on eBay I’ve looked at getting the Magnuson charger tub, and making up a plate to bolt this too

Finally a break in the rain so took the car out for the first time this year …….i have cam bearings not for the v8 , so can start the rebuild Gonna get myself a tug welder too, And start on the new supercharger inlet manifold …….the mx5 turbo setup I have now is fun though, Plenty of power for driving on the roads, And having the clutch pedal back is much better 😎

Got a new toy, Rtech tft171 ac/dc tig Drove to Rtech and done me a good deal 👍 Now just need to learn to tig weld, So far, it’s really tricky!! 😂 Here’s my first attempt 🤦♂️🤦♂️ Need to learn arc length,……and not dipping the tungsten tip , also, Cleaning is key !!

Still practicing, Got a couple hours under me now I’m just playing about with it, Getting the feel for the right arc length etc ……..fillet welds on T joints are hard!! Il take any tips 😂

So this is my plan for the supercharger manifold I want to make These runners will be welded to the box section in 2nd picture The supercharger sits on top, the outlet of charger comes from the top, which can then go to a air-water intercooler, Then feed into the front of the box section Full mad max style

surely one of the cast holley efi hi rise split plenum manifolds would be easier? they're proven with boost to not split.

True, But I’m trying to incorporate a intercooler of some type There are intercoolers for the Holley hi-ram, But very expensive ……I want to learn new skills too, so this is something that will help me learn

Still enjoying the mx5 turbo combo Having issues with over boosting, and the ecu boost cutting I guess the only solve would be a external wastgate 🤷♂️ The actuator on the turbo is 10psi But on the laptop whilst auto tune running, I’m hitting 18 😬

Last minute decision to go to Santa pod today for a RWYB day ……clutch decided to give up on the drive up Managed a couple of runs, but would slip with the slightest of throttle So saved what clutch I had left for the drive home, still fun though 👍 Got a cool picture for the garage too

Been a while…… Started in the inlet manifold for the supercharger, I’ve also gotten myself a BMW manual gearbox, and PMC adapter plate for the manual conversion

PMC adaptor arrived There was a 15% off sale from speeding parts, so with tax, cost about £730, Got some summit short herders too cheap 👍
